Chapter 179 - Dearest Stranger (1/2)
Long Xi had to be assured that Big Brother Kun was safe and sound!
She entrusted the business of the two companies to the vice presidents and set off after telling grandma to visit Mo Kun.
After getting on the plane, she found out that the passenger sitting next to her was Yan Wangchuan.
Yan Wangchuan explained, “I have refused a few singing programs’ broadcasting. I have asked for leave from the company to go there with you. Don’t drive me away. I won’t leave, because I’d feel worried about you and I am afraid that you might meet some dangers!”
Long Xi was touched and somewhat speechless. How could she get rid of him? Would he stay by her side for a lifetime?
She left in a hurry, so it was 11:00 in the evening when they arrived at the Hokkaido Airport.
Getting out of the airport, Long Xi barely booked a hotel on the internet when she asked a taxi to the hospital with Yan Wangchuan.
Long Xi looked anxiously outside the window.
The sky was as dark as ink that couldn’t be erased easily. The road aside was covered with thick white snow.
The driver was skilled and the drive was stable. But it was just at 30 to 40 km/h, which was not fast enough for Long Xi.
The driver was a talkative middle-aged man, saying in English with a smile, “Are you coming from Z Country? Hokkaido is relatively cold. People are not used to it when just coming here! It snowed last night which was the fourth time this year. Snow melts when reaching the ground three times faster, because of the high temperature on the ground. Later on, with the following snows, it will stack. Now, it stacked up to one-meter in height.
Half an hour passed by, from the airport to the sanatorium.
The car stopped at the entrance to the sanatorium. A uniformed security guard stood by the door.
Long Xi got out of the car and expressed her intention in English. The security guard refused her visit politely but resolutely, because the patients had already taken their break.
Long Xi had no choice but to get on a taxi again and head to the nearest hotel that was booked online.
The biggest feature of the hotels in Japan was that they were managed by women. The Japanese called them “female generals”.
The female general in that hotel was a kind 50-year-old female shopkeeper.
Even though Long Xi got to the hotel at midnight and only booked one room while Yan Wangchuan tagged along, the female general did not show any impatience but received them warmly. She helped them to check him and led them to their room.
It was on a peak tourist season, so Long Xi had to share the room with Yan Wangchuan, since there was a lack of empty rooms.
Long Xi was skeptical, whether Yan Wangchuan deliberately “forgot” to book rooms ahead.
Fortunately, the room was quite large. That female general helped them to place another tatami in that room. After telling them there were some hot spring pools in the hotel, she left.
Yan Wangchuan found Long Xi was somewhat embarrassed, so he said with a smile, “Be at ease. I won’t bother you tonight! I will sleep first! Take it easy. My mom said I never snored, so I won’t interrupt your sleep.”
He took off his down jacket but left the rest of his clothes. Turning his back to Long Xi, he fell asleep on the tatami on the left.
Long Xi spent a sleepless night.
She thought of Mo Kun and felt uneasy. Her yearning for him caused her insomnia.
She remembered that the landlady said there were some hot spring pools in the hotel. They weren’t the open-air type and were available during nights. Clothes for hot springs were left in lockers which had the corresponding room numbers.
She decided to get up and go to the “Chuan Spring” in the hotel.
That was a wooden pool of spring, which seemed to be a Japanese cypress, spreading a thick smell of wood.
When she was soaked in the hot spring, she remembered having accompanied her Brother Kun to Little Mount Emei for a hot spring outing half a month ago.
Just after a few days, things had totally changed. It was cold, silent, and miserable at the moment.
That might be the greatest pain in the world!
Perhaps, the “hot spring” evaporated her tears. For that time, she couldn’t cry!
Early the next morning, at sunrise, she did not wake up Yan Wangchuan but asked for a taxi to head for the sanatorium.
She remembered that the security guard said visiting hours were only available at six o’clock in the morning.
She set off in a hurry and hoped to see him at once, but when she really saw Mo Kun who was led by a nurse pass by the road in the yard of the sanatorium, she dared not go over. Did she feel more nervous when she could meet him at once?
She hid behind the pillars of the corridor, staring at him secretly with affection in her eyes.
Mo Kun wore purple warm clothing with gauze wrapped around his head, standing in the tranquil yard alone.
