Chapter 130 As Long As You Are with Me, The Sun Will Always Shine (2/2)
They could not help but get out of the car and look down. The green vineyards were in harmony with the red roofs.
Mo Kun told them that only about 700 people lived in this small town and that they were all involved in making champagne.
Long Xi said, “Everyone hangs a variety of interesting wrought iron signs on the doors. On some of them there is a farmer picking grapes, a couple making wine or a bottle of champagne that has already been opened. You can hardly smell the breath of business, but the beauty is suffocating here.”
Mo Kun said with a nod, “The best champagne comes from this beautiful place! The people here are indeed affluent!”
Long Xi said, “In fact, they are still unsophisticated, even though they are rich. Judging from their exterior decoration and curtains, they still remain simple people.”
After admiring the beautiful scenery, the three of them got into the car again.
Mo Kun drove the car to a French castle.
Its gate was a wrought iron artwork, and the top of the gate had been designed like a spear tip. Furthermore, a delicate, complicated gold shield would appear when the two sides of the door were closed.
The path to the old castle was fully dotted with cobblestones decorated with stars and moons. In front of the old castle steps was a pair of silver vivid mermaid sculptures.
Mo Kun told Long Xi and Grandma that these two sculptures were the symbols of this manor, as its name was Mermaid Villa.
There was a piece of trimmed lawn on the right side of the path and a small garden with a wall on the left.
This was Long Xi’s first impression of this ancient manor.
A Duke had lived here before, so the owner rented this villa at a high price. Mo Kun spent a lot of money to rent it for a day.
The owner of the castle, who was named Paul, was a middle-aged French man with a big beard. Right now, he and his wife Jana were enthusiastically standing at the door to welcome them.
Paul’s ancestors used to be Dukes in France. Later, they had turned into a winemaking family. Paul was already the fifth-generation successor.
Paul said, “Welcome. I hope that you will have a good day here.” The French man did not speak loudly, but his expression was very vivid.
They led the guests to the small garden.
When the enchanting wrought iron gate was opened, they realized that there was another small world there. The garden was surrounded by unique flowers and plants, and there was a lotus pond in the middle with a spectacular white whale fountain sculpture in it.
Two white whale sculptures raised their heads at the base of the dazzling three-story marble fountain, and six curved water columns were being ejected from their mouths before flying into the blue sky. This unusual beauty in midair was scattered like pearls. The splendid sunlight illuminated the water columns and created six rainbows.
A white pigeon stopped at the edge of the pond and looked at them curiously.
Mo Kun led it to his hand with bread. It was completely unafraid of people, so it ate the bread crumbs in Mo Kun’s hand leisurely. After filling itself up, it flapped its wings and flew away.
Animals and mankind did make a good combination there!
There was also a cemetery for pets in a secluded corner behind the garden, where every master’s pets were buried. After catching sight of the epitaphs, they learned that the pets buried there varied from horse, dogs, and cats, to cows and hawks. The pets there were enviable, as they had been loved by their hosts before their death and had found a place to rest after death.
Plastic cushions, silver cutlery and a basket of food were all waiting on the grass in the garden. Meanwhile, a white horse and a black horse were eating grass in the distance. They were the owner’s pets.
The host asked them to sit down, drink tea and eat snacks.
They drank Ceylon Teas and looked at the harvest scene in the vast vineyards in the distance. While listening to the birds twittering and watching the two horses running, they really had a leisurely time.
The hostess also took out a guitar and sang the classic French old song La Vie En Rose without any restrictions with the host as she played the guitar.
One of them sang in a crisp and high voice, while the other’s voice was low and magnetic. They echoed each other, their voices sounding very congenial.
Mo Kun invited Long Xi to dance with him. Infected by the atmosphere, Long Xi accepted the invitation without hesitation. They casually danced to the rhythm with ease.
At the end of the song, Mo Kun gave Long Xi a meaningful smile and said, “Such a life can be considered a rosy life.”
Then, the two of them wheeled their horses around the vineyard.
They saw strings of fruit, such as agates, hanging on the short branches of trees and workers picking ripe grapes. Although their task was arduous, everyone smiled with satisfaction. No one frowned.
There were several flaming roses in the garden.
Mo Kun said, “These roses are the fortune tellers that predict the growth of the grapes. As long as the roses grow well, the grapes will grow well this year.”
In addition to the roses, there were also large rosebushes, lavender and some unknown flowers. In the distance, large pieces of canola flowers were rooted.
Mo Kun said, “This life is really great. Long Xi, as long as you are willing to lead such a life, I can satisfy your desire.”
Long Xi said a bit proudly, “I’ll fight for what I want. I won’t ask others to help me. Relying on others will make me feel insecure and lose my dignity. I don’t want to be a canary in a golden cage.”
Mo Kun was stunned.
After a long time, he said, “Good, very good! You’re the only woman I have ever loved and respected ever since I was born twenty years ago. You’re the first and the last woman in my life.”
