Chapter 71 Indulge in the Wine (1/2)
Xiaolu asked with a smile, ”Is it that weird?”
Uncle Zhao Si nodded his head and said, ”They told the villagers about this event when they came back. The next morning, all the cattle in the village were dead overnight. They were poisoned.”
Mo Kun discovered the key to the problem, and calmly asked, ”Do those dead cattle have anything to do with White Ape?”
Uncle Zhao Si said, ”Yes. Since then, there is a tale in the village that White Ape is the Mountain Ghost in Little Mount Emei. He hates being interrupted by the mortal. If the mortal dares to go up the mountain, the White Ape will afflict villagers. So, now all the villagers dare not to climb up the mountain. Little Xi, don't break the rule!”
Long Xi, ”Really? Isn't this only a superstition?”
Uncle Zhao Si's small eyes open widely, and he seriously said, ”Little Xi, don't talk nonsense! You don't know that since then, white smoke frequently wisps up from the primitive forests in Little Mount Emei. The elder villagers say that's Mountain Ghost cultivating themselves, swallowing clouds in and out! Your sister-in-law has got dinner ready, and I'll go back now!”
Long Xi retained him smilingly, ”Just have dinner here. I'll make your favorite Country Style Salt Baked Chicken.”
Uncle Zhao Si smiled honestly and said, ”No! Don't bother!”
After uncle Zhao Si's left, Long Xi made the fire in the kitchen and made the Country Style Salt Baked Chicken and Chili Stir-fried Beans. She also made soup with chicken bones and stewed cabbage by using some chicken soup.
After enjoying the delicious dinner, it was still early, so Long Xi dug out a full dark brown earthenware pot buried under the pear tree. A piece of red paper was posted on the pan. On the paper signed two words, ”Pear White” by Long Xi herself. This wine was brewed by her last year.
Long Xi opened the pot and saw two pear petals were on the light yellow liquid, giving off aroma!
”Wow, it smells good!” His glittering eyes and handsome appearance made him exceedingly outstanding.
Long Xi stared at him and almost forgot to breathe.
He deliberately sat beside her. They cuddled up to each other, and he could feel the warmth of her body and the fragrance of those refreshing flowers, which were nipped off by Xiaolu who used them to make a flower necklace.
Drunk! Even if the wine could not make them drunk, they were willing to fell drunk!
Long Xi brought a couple of cups from the kitchen and poured some sparkling crystal wine for other people.
It was the first time for Mo Kun to drink wine. He got close to the cup and sipped a little. A taste of aroma of pear flower combined with sweet rice wine permeated his mouth, rippling and rising.
The formerly ugly village house seemed to be enchanted: gone were the white walls, green roofs, red bricks and even the desk and chairs made of elm.
He felt that he was on a boat with Long Xi rather than in a village house, drifting in a clear river.
The sound of gurgling water hunted over his ears, and the pear flowers by the river all blossomed. The warm sunlight cast rays on his body.
The little boat slowly drifted through the currents, creating an atmosphere of ”the ferry landing deserted where a boat swings by itself”.
Mo Kun indulged himself and felt a little bit feverish.
Lord Mo Kun couldn't help scooping a handful of clear water and washed his face.
Then, Mo Kun found that the aroma of pear blossom wine was from the river. Actually, this was a wine-river.
He could help off his clothes, and his attractive body figure was exposed to the outside. He jumped into the river and swam while drinking wine-river. He also sang the classic Chinese poem lines by Cao Cao and Li Bai, two great poets in ancient China, ”Here before us, wine and song! For man does not live long. Like daybreak dew, his days are swiftly gone... Enjoy and maximize all the pleasures which life affords!”
Long Xi also indulged herself in the pear blossom wine.
The warm liquid glided through Long Xi's throat, and some pieces of memories occurred in her mind. Were these some memories called upon by the wine? She seemed to remember Mo Kun's ice blue eyes.
She seemed to see herself set up the Starry Night Private Cuisine Restaurant, which was surrounded by pear trees in a congenial environment. There, pear flowers were flying all over the sky, just like the snow in spring.
