209 207 Black Cat Tribe and Goddess (1/2)
After the goddess left, we were back under Lumina.
”Safe, looks like you've evolved...”
I'm not equipped with evolutionary cover right now. Lumina seems to feel the evolution of clarity and franc.
”Mm-hmm. Thanks.”
”Nevertheless, this is-”
Lumina suddenly pushes silently and stares at Fran. There was not only joy in its face, but surprise.
”No way - I didn't know it was going to go to Black Heavenly Tiger!
Well, Fran evolved into a Black Heavenly Tiger. I don't really feel it, but it must have been a legendary race for the Beast Man. Even Lumina is a black tiger.
Lumina has a strange face, staring at Fran. There seemed to be something like respect for Fran on his face. Becoming a Black Tian Tiger seems more serious than I think.
”What are the conditions for being a Black Tian Tiger?
”Hmm? Apparently, Fran's evolution has made the restrictions no longer applicable. I can talk.”
The goddess said that, too.
”Being able to use thunderbolt magic and having more than a certain amount of agility and magic. This is the condition to evolve into a Black Titan Tiger.”
Fran is filled. If you had equipped me, though. No, because skill-sharing is, as its name suggests, a skill you share with Fran. I guess my skills are treated like Fran's.
”I didn't expect to meet the conditions. No, I had heard of the master's abilities, but I didn't think that would satisfy the conditions. Isn't that the first time you've reached Black Heavenly Tiger outside the royal family?
”Is that it?”
”Mm-hmm. It's a real miracle to Fran that we met the Lord.”
”The goddess said something similar.”
”Told? Hello, you've met the goddess!
Lumina stuffed Fran with a stunned look. This was also faint to me, but for Lumina and the others, the gods are objects of faith. Besides, Lumina is a dungeon master. Exactly the family of the goddess of chaos.
”It's not me. My master spoke.”
”And, master! What's this all about?
When I tell her that I met the goddess of chaos, she asks me what Lumina talked about in excitement. Surprisingly, I can't feel any ill feelings from those eyes.
But isn't God the hateful opponent who cursed the Black Cats? He should be the one who, besides the guilty royal family, has been involved in joint responsibility and has created a cut to discredit that status for more than 500 years.
That's what I asked, and Lumina spoke with a complicated face.
”Not that I don't have anything to think about... Because it was God's decision not to.”
It seems that there is also a god in God who is fundamentally different from men, like a natural god, who does not give any consideration to things such as individuals. Do you think that the punishment inflicted by these gods is unreasonable to humans?
Even the Earth has many similar myths. Not to mention the world where God actually exists. I guess you know other similar stories. And it seemed to be a late renunciation, although I understand that referring to God is an incomprehensible, terribly irrational being of men.
”Besides, the goddess of chaos is a human goddess.”
What's that supposed to mean?
”It was the goddess of chaos who erased the record on the evolution of the Black Cat Nation and took its memory from the rest of the species”
”That just seems like God's harassment?
”No, the other way around”
The stripping of memories and records seems to be the result of concessions drawn by man gods such as the Goddess of Chaos against gods who insist on destroying all Black Cat tribes. Only the severance of the species was prevented by giving them a tough test.
”I tend to be mistaken for that, but only from other races did God take away my memory. Only a few of them, the black-cat tribes spared the divine punishment, and the other beasts naturally knew the conditions for evolution? Besides, the Black Cats had literature left behind.”
'So, what's not telling the Black Cats at all now?
”The records and literature that remained were erased after being taken away by the newly raised new-beast royalty and the Blue Cat clan, and many Black Cat clans were enslaved. And I was forbidden to even talk about the conditions for evolution. As a result, the conditions of evolution are not passed on to the new generation, and even the fact that they can only evolve has been forgotten.”
'I see. I naturally can't forgive the Beast Royal Family or the Blue Cat Clan, but by the way, the divine punishment triggered it, right? The Black Cats have been enslaved for 500 years. You really don't resent God?
”I don't know.”
For Fran, I just found out why he couldn't evolve. But what about Lumina?
”It is a miracle that the Black Cats, who freed themselves from the evil gods sealed by God and put other races at risk, were not allowed to cut off their races. To say that you have freed the evil gods is to say that you have almost destroyed the world. More like 500 years.”
When they say you're about to destroy the world, you know the weight of sin as fast as you can. Well, it's a world of elves and stuff, and 500 years seems shorter than I think.
”Besides, the fact that the Black Cats have been enslaved and taken from the throne is, in a sense, the tail of tyrannical behavior until then. I would have laid down good governance and had the people loved me, other races would have helped me. I'm sorry we let our children carry our sins... I hardly feel like resenting God.”
I'm not saying there isn't at all, but resentment of God seemed smaller than I thought. And he even seems to feel like he owes something to the goddess of chaos who prevented us from cutting off our species.
”So? What did the goddess say?
Well, there was no such thing as hiding against Lumina, and she hasn't told me not to talk. I wonder if I can talk to Lumina if it is.
However, since about half of the story was information Lumina also knew, the main story would be when the goddess featured her awakening. And then we're talking about evolution.
'It's just that we've defeated evil men of threat A before...'
I think Linford was definitely above threat A. Why didn't you evolve when you defeated him?
”Did you defeat it with the Lord alone?
”With other adventurers”
”Then it's because of that. The only way the curse can be freed by defeating the evil man of Threat A is if you defeat him personally.”
Yes, the conditions for breaking the personal curse are personal - that is, do you have to meet them solo?
And shortly afterwards, Lumina suddenly bowed her head to Fran when she talked about the sins committed by the Black Cat Clan.
”Sorry.”
”Hmm?”
”I was doing something like a royal counselor. In the end, however, the kings could not be stopped, and they were dismissed from their jobs because of their frustration. By the way, I lost myself to the adventurer, became a dungeon master in the land I came from, and only one survived.”
”But it's not Lumina's fault”
”I was in a position where I might have been stopped!
Maybe he's been sick for 500 years. He said that if he had been able to stop the royalty, the Black Cats might never have been put in a predicament. Maybe I blame myself and the royalty of the day more than God.
That's why I cut myself. But I helped Fran evolve. Not just to say you liked Fran, but it must also mean redemption.
”Besides... your lords have put you in danger”
Looks like you listened to me and thought that in some cases Fran or I might have been touching God's wrath, too. Lumina had a blue face and bowed her head deep again.
”Lumina is nothing wrong”
”No, I didn't think enough”
The face is horribly serious.
”If it's just my disappearance, I don't mind. But if you even get involved with the Lord, even if you die, you will not die!
”Lumina. You can't die.”
I look up at Lumina with Fran's uncut face. I think about when Lumina disappeared, and I feel sad.
”But this is the only thing you can do to our Lord...”
”I hope you didn't do anything for me”
”But...”
”Just stay, okay”
Fran whispered in a small voice, but clearly murmured so, hugging Lumina. It's a form that holds Lumina's torso down with both hands and buries her face in the valley of her chest.
