” I think he's getting ready to go the bakery.” Laura casually answered while drinking her apple juice. Brian was astonished ” Is he not getting tired, Going to the same place every day..” he mumbled under his breath.
” You are wrong about that, to be exact he has not been more happier than he has been since the last 15 days.” Brian stared at his sister as he was not expecting this scenario ” He got himself an art teacher and the bakery is their meeting spot. The girl is a part timer there.”
” Who is she?” Brian's eyes narrowed dangerously.
” Well, he didn't tell me much about her and why are you getting so worked up?” she rolled her eyes at this over-reacting specimen.
” What if she's a gold digger?” Brian was still unsettled as he had his own concerns. He cannot compromise the safety of his nephew.
” Don't worry because she is not.” a childish voice answered angrily making the two persons in the room turn around only to see a angry little Ben glaring daggers at Brian.
Brian was too stunned to speak anything. How long has it been since this kid spoke to him? And the first thing that comes out from his mouth is defending some stranger. He stiffly turned his head to look at his sister who generously cleared his doubts ” The only time he spoke to me is when I asked about the girl in question.” she sighed ” It's a good thing.. At least, he is speaking a little. He may come out of his shell slowly.”
” But I will have to do a background search about her..” he spoke with equal conviction. But, his words made little Ben cringe further. Ben slowly descended the stairs and made his way towards his first uncle. He liked this uncle of his, but only after sis Isabella. Since he is speaking bad about his sis, he will not be courteous.
” Uncle..” Brian raised his brows on seeing the little guy taking the initiative to speak with him. ” Grandpa already met her. So, I suggest you to relax.”
What??
This is another piece of hot potato news!!
His austere father approved of this meeting? Brian could not refute anymore. With Mark Harris in action, Brian was sure that nothing about a person's past could escape from the old man's fish net. So, the girl in question might not begold digger afterall.
Feeling a great weight lifted off his shoulders, Brian's expression turned into a relaxed one. He felt that he should apologise as he looked at his fuming nephew.
” Ben, I'm sorry champ…”
Ben showed no reaction whatsoever as he continued to munch his snickers bar.
” I will not speak ill of your teacher again. I promise.”
Ben faintly nodded his head as he took out a granola bar from his pokemon bag.
