Chapter 399 - Taking Down Amun (2/2)
The other 3 BTAs looked at each other with frustration but tried not to act impulsively.
”You should hurry and leave. If you run straight for the gates now, you will be able to escape unharmed,” Amun chuckled.
Sasquatch glared at the man. He had never met him before, but he felt like he knew him better than anyone. This man enjoyed seeing other people in fear and pain, and he was enjoying this scene in front of him.
He couldn't let him have his way.
Keeping a straight face, Sasquatch lifted the microphone attached to his shirt and spoke to someone he knew he could definitely rely on, ”Captain, we have a bomb. It's exploding in less than 5 minutes. Please tell us what to do.”
Even though he doubted her at first, he had been convinced by Halia's skills and abilities after working with her in China, so he was putting his life in her hands.
Halia stood up from her chair and focused on the live footage that was being streamed to her via the cameras attached to the agents' shirts. She knew that there wasn't enough time to evacuate every single person in the base so she had to reduce the casualties as much as possible. ”Team A, Team B, Team C, evacuate as many people as you can and wait from a safe location,” she immediately commanded.
She then said to the 4 BTAs, ”BTAs keep your eyes on Amun and don't let him escape. Sasquatch, show me the bomb!”
Sasquatch unlatched the camera from his shirt and scanned it across the bottom of the bed.
As Halia looked at the bomb, she waved Jackson over. She no longer had the knowledge from the weapons and explosives expert, but Jackson was still a weapons dealer at one stage with real knowledge. She recognized a few components and whispered to Jackson, ”Can it be defused in less than 5 minutes?”
At this moment in time, the best outcome was to defuse the bomb if they could. That was the only way to ensure zero casualties. But she had to determine whether it could be done in time. If it was too risky for her agents, she was not gambling with their lives.
Jackson looked carefully. It was not a complicated bomb since it was made to explode quickly, so he nodded his head with confidence. ”Yes, it can be quickly defused if we find the right wire and cut it,” he said.
With reassurance from Jackson, Halia turned on her microphone again and said, ”Hummingbird, I want you to defuse that bomb...”
Hummingbird had been transferred weapons and explosives knowledge from the same expert that Halia previously worked with. If anyone was to defuse the bomb, then she could definitely do it.
