Chapter 62 - Sleeping With A Gentleman (1/2)

Jackson was surprised by this sudden gesture, but he enjoyed it. As the woman's lips pressed against his, a slight smile appeared on his face. He knew who she was now, so he felt a lot more comfortable around her. But, she didn't know who he was yet. ”Wait till you find out who I am,” he thought to himself.

Halia felt the man wrap his arms back around her body. As she moved away from his lips she leaned into his warmth and gently placed her head against his chest. She knew it was wrong, but this was exactly where she wanted to be: in his arms.

If only he wasn't a criminal and she wasn't a police officer...

”Jackson, can you give up on the deal with Remy? Let's just run away and live a normal life together,” Halia suddenly suggested.

Jackson smiled as he ran his hand through Halia's hair. He knew exactly why she was suggesting this. He was her target and her mission was to capture him in 3 days time. The silly woman had no idea what was actually going on.

Jackson wanted to tell Halia the truth. That he knew who she was and she was not going to catch him. But, it was not the right time yet. In 3 days time, after his meeting with Remy, he was going to reveal everything to her.

So, in the meantime, he simply replied, ”Sorry, this deal is too important to me. I promise, after this deal, everything will be over.”

Halia felt her heart ache. She was becoming more and more attracted to this guy, yet she was supposed to arrest him in 3 days time. She knew he wasn't giving up on the deal, but she couldn't give up on him either. What was she to do?

As she continued thinking, her eyes started to get heavy and she eventually fell asleep. Jackson glanced at the woman in his arms as she slept peacefully and his heart melted. He was becoming more and more certain that Max was right. Perhaps, he really was in love.

...

The next morning, Sean arrived at the park where he was meant to meet with Halia. Once again, he set up a fishing rod for himself and one for Halia, but today, he had brought a couple of extra things with him: one small box and one big box.

Sean looked at his watch. It was exactly 9:10am; Halia should have already arrived. She was never late.

However, 20 minutes later, Sean glanced at his watch again, but Halia was still nowhere to be seen. Did something go wrong?
