Chapter 35 - Inside The Home Of A Criminal (1/2)

Halia looked at the man in front of her. He had saved her three times, he was caring, protective and he was very good looking. If he wasn't a criminal, she would definitely fall for him.

Meanwhile, Jackson looked at the woman in front of him. She was beautiful, tough, brave, caring and sweet. All these years, he had ignored women because his life was too dangerous and unpredictable. But, for some reason, Halia was like a drug that he wanted to get more of, even though he knew he shouldn't.

At that moment, a loud crack of thunder suddenly roared across the sky and a thunderstorm started. Halia quickly looked outside.

”I'm going to pack this and get going before the storm gets any worse,” she said.

”Why don't you stay here until the storm's over?” Jackson offered, secretly not wanting her to leave. ”Besides, I think I still need your help with a few things.”

Halia looked at Jackson. His shirt and coat was still lying on the floor and he had no shirt on. ”Let me grab you a clean shirt, you're going to catch a cold in this storm,” Halia offered.

”I need to have a shower first,” Jackson said.

”But you can't get your wounds wet,” Halia reminded.

”I just need to wipe down my body. You were a nurse before...can you help me?” Jackson asked as he looked at her innocently.

Halia looked at the man with an awkward expression; she couldn't say no. As a nurse, cleaning a patient was second nature, so she couldn't turn him down and blow her cover.

”Come to the bathroom,” Halia said casually.

Jackson's lips curved upwards as he followed behind. As he watched Halia walk into the bathroom, he couldn't help but admire her body.

Halia was wearing a black sleeveless top and a pair of skinny ankle jeans that hugged her s.e.xy hourglass figure. Her long black hair dangled just above her waist and it swayed from side to side, like a hypnotic pendulum. Jackson couldn't take his eyes off her.

As he approached, Halia grabbed his shoulders, making sure not to touch his wounds and seated him on the lid of the toilet. She then filled the sink with warm water and a bit of soap.

”Do you have a face towel I could use?”

Jackson pointed to his bedroom, ”In my wardrobe, there are fresh towels.”
