Chapter 330 - The Great Weapon (1/2)

Mercury moved quickly through the streets, the only reason he had not been spotted by the patrols by now was that he was being guided by the model Sparrows that saw all the patrols from above, soon Mercury neared the lord's mansion and sat himself with his back against the wall to the mansion and closed his eyes and regulated his breathing for a bit before he let out a low whistle, then moments later a model Sparrow flew down to receive orders, then he made a series of hand gestures before he spoke

”Paint targets for elimination”

The hand gestures he made specified the area the Sparrows should look as well as the criteria for targets, Mercury specified anything within the mansion walls and anything that was armed, a few moments later the Sparrow in front of him let out a clear tone, then he spoke

”Launch strikes”

The Sparrow in front of him let out a chip, then around the mansion serval guards fell to the ground clutching their necks, Mercury waited a few seconds before he jumped over the wall and set foot inside the mansion that as of a few moments ago had been under heavy guard now, however, around half the people inside the mansion had been killed in a simultaneous strike from the model Sparrow's

'It's only a matter of time before some of the bodies get found… Need to move quickly…'

Mercury picked up the pace and moved quickly to the inside of the mansion and managed to get up the stairs to the first floor just as a scream sounded out on the ground floor

'Looks like that's all the head start I get..!'

The mansion slowly came alive as the people there realized that they were under attack, yells and screams sounded out on the ground floor and on the first floor as Mercury made it to the 2nd floor, he followed the plan of the mansion he had seen before and quickly reached where the weapon was said to be kept and let out a whistle, quickly 4 model Sparrow's flew in from open windows and hovered around him, then he made a few hand gestures before he breathed out deeply, then he sent out a jab to the middle of the double door in front of him and punched it in, the doors opened wide revealing the inside of the room that seemed to be a repurposed office, in the middle of the room stood a clear display case with a wooden staff inside, the staff was covered in ancient-looking runes and hummed with a soft light, Mercury showed and smile and quickly moved into the room, he inspected the display case before he broke it open and reached out and grabbed the weapon before he broke it over his knee

”That's that…”

Mercury broke the weapon for two reasons, to make sure that if he were captured the enemy later they could not use it to attack the landing forces, the other reason was that he felt this weapon was too terrible to be used, he quickly put the broken weapon into his backpack before he quickly wore it again, just then a figure emerged in at the door blocking Mercury's way out, the figure was clad in Egyptian-looking armor and pointed his curved sword at Mercury before he spoke

”I am Terak of the Wasim clan, state your name saboteur!”

Mercury showed a smile before he made a few hand gestures and the model Sparrows that were beside him quickly left the room by breaking through a window, then he spoke

”Mercury… And I am not a saboteur…”

Terak showed a fierce smile before he let out a roar and charged at Mercury, Terak closed the distance and hacked at Mercury's side with his curved sword, Mercury blocked with his left gauntlet, as sparks flew out Mercury struck out with his right gauntlet sending a jab towards the chin of Terak that leaned back and dodged the blow before he bashed Mercury in the chest with his shield, as the shield made contact Terak's eyes widened slightly as he instantly released the shield from his armor and pulled back his arm, his choice had been correct as Mercury's attempt to grab Terak's shield arm was foiled, Terak retreated a few steps before he showed a smile

”I take back my words Mercury! You are no mere saboteur! You are a true warrior!”

Mercury threw Terak's discarded shield to the side before he took a boxing stance and kicked off the ground, denting the floor below his feet, Terak oddly enough didn't retreat he stepped forwards and entered Mercury's range with steady steps as he sent out a flurry of slashes and hacks with his curved sword, Mercury that originally were on the offensive was quickly pushed back as he focused on blocking, in mere seconds he had already blocked about 50 slashes, stabs and hacks from Terak's curved sword and all the jabs he had sent out had been narrowly dodged, so Mercury changed tactic and struck out meeting Terak's curved sword straight on as he yelled

[Forging blows]!”

A loud clang sounded out in the room as the curved sword bent and eventually broke under the strain, Terak quickly retreated before he looked down on his ruined sword and shrugged before he tossed the sword aside before he drew a dagger and took an open hand stance as he laughed

”You destroyed my weapon, clever choice!”

Mercury showed a calm smile before he suddenly bolted to the side leaped out of the window that the model Sparrows had broken previously, Terak sighed and lowered his dagger as he relaxed his stance as he muttered

”Planning to run..? Heh...”

Then he left the room in quick strides as he reached the first floor a figure walked up to him, she looked a lot like Terak and called out to him

”Where's the intruder Brother?”

Terak shook his head
