“…How frightening.” Nan Wei finally spoke after having his entire worldview changed.

Xiao Yu scurried over to Nan Wei. Under Nan Wei’s surprised gaze, Xiao Yu lay back and retracted his four paws, revealing a round snow-white belly.

“*Squeak*.”

In that instant, Nan Wei was blasted by cuteness. He decisively reached out and rubbed Xiao Yu’s belly.

Xiao Yu hugged Nan Wei’s finger in sync.

The human and hamster played together to their hearts’ content. With nothing else to do, the other two background characters began to chat.

“So, seeing that Xiao Yu is unscathed, whom are you putting this act on for?” Chu Ge asked.

“Haven’t you already guessed?”

“…For Nan Chan.”

“Correct.” Yan Jin sighed deeply.

Chu Ge also sighed.

“So you called us over to discuss our response?”

Yan Jin didn’t respond. He neither nodded nor shook his head.

“Let Nan Wei go back. I can handle this alone,” Chu Ge said.

“You spent so much effort and luck into hiding yourself for all these years. You’re giving up all of it just like that?” Yan Jin asked.

Once Chu Ge showed himself, his identity was bound to be uncovered. At the very least, the Nan Family would find out. Because Yan Jin had considered this point, he had called Nan Wei over as well.

“Mm.” Nan Wei hurriedly put Xiao Yu down and solemnly sat down.

Chu Ge also came over and sat down.

“So have you found out who’s behind this?” Chu Ge asked.

“The grand theft is already a fact, regardless of whatever they claim. Ten years of jail time can’t be avoided.” Yan Jin linked his hands on his knees and sat up straight. “This way, we’ll have the initiative.”
