“Are you all right? Did you get scalded?” Her female friend on the other side, quickly stood up and called the waiter.
Li Nian loosened her hand and threw away the newspaper. “I’m all right.”
“What did you see?” Another female friend picked up the newspaper, curiously. “Well, isn’t this the lady from the Lan family?”
After the waiter cleaned up the table, Zhang Qian approached her and asked, “Who is the man?”
“Shen Xinglan!” Tian Yuan smiled. “Are these two people really in love?”
“How interesting…” Zhang Qian sneered. “Somebody else is eager to be a stepmother. Miss Lan should not have done such a shameful thing. She deserves to be an illegitimate child…”
“Stop!” Li Nian suddenly shouted.
Fortunately, there were partitions where they sat, and there were not many guests for tea in the afternoon. Otherwise, they would have surprised the others.

Li Nian had calmed down by now. She took a sip of the sweet fruit tea and took a deep breath before saying, “So what? His wife is dead and his daughter is young. After I marry him, we will have our own children.”
“My God!” Tian Yuan almost cried out again. “Marry him? Are you thinking that far ahead?”
Zhang Qian was not like Tian Yuan blustering loudly. She asked Li Nian, “Are you serious? What are your family’s views?”
“Shen Corp is not inferior in the south, compared with Li Corp. My grandfather has no reason to object.” Li Nian smiled. “But the problem is not on my side now.”
Tian Yuan ridiculed. “Do you mean that woman from the Lan family? Come on, she just looks like his deceased wife and is able to get along with the child.”
“Are you acquainted with Director Shen?” Zhang Qian said with a smile, “Is that why you don’t seem to have time whenever we invited you recently. You’ve been in love!”

Zhang Qian put a cake in her mouth. “Eat. Don’t talk too much.”
“I have an appointment with Shen Xinglan for business tomorrow,” Li Nian said, “stop eating and go shopping with me!”
Compared with the gossip headlines that they were looking at, some people focused on the financial reports.
“Shen Xinglan bought the three-store office building behind the international trade building.” Lan Hua called Lan Wenxuan to his office. “Have you finished your consultation with him yet?”
Lan Wenxuan took the newspaper in his hand, but he had apparently seen the gossip headlines too.
