Bai Yongwei was in a good mood today because Ji Yan and Ji Xue returned from abroad.
“Mom, I want to have a dance party to let everyone know I am back!” Ji Xue said in the car. When they left City S, they were down and out like underdogs.
None of her girlfriends who used to fawn on her said goodbye to her. They didn’t even show up.
“I will let those ugly women know that I will always live a better life than they!”
Ji Yan turned his head and looked at her impatiently. “Do you think you can still live the same life as before? What did I say on the plane? If you make trouble again, we won’t help you.”
“Mom, look at him!” Ji Xue spoke to Bai Yongwei angrily.
Bai Yongwei said impatiently, “Your brother is right! Everything is changed, and you should keep a low profile.”
“So I can’t have a dance party?” Ji Xue asked incredulously. “Then why did I come back?”
“I think there will be a charity dinner soon. I will inform Xia Wan and ask her to take you with her.” Bai Yongwei thought, “Until then, you should stay at home.”
Ji Xue felt angry, but when Bai Yongwei gave her a warning look, she did not dare retort. She’d already witnessed how formidable her mother was. They didn’t have anything when they first arrived in the US.
Then an owner of a shipping company fell in love with Bai Yongwei at first sight and they quickly married.
“The boss of the shipping company had a wife. He divorced his wife before marrying Bai Yongwei.” A Miao looked at the information on her hand. “This woman is really something!”
He Shishi sneered, “Just seductive tricks and low class ones at that.”
“At least, she was very lucky…” A Miao put the paper down.
The boss got sick and died two years later, so Bai Yongwei inherited all his property.
“Unfortunately, she has two unexceptional children.” He Shishi shrugged her shoulders. “Her son is self-righteous and stupid and her daughter… besides being self-righteous and stupid, she is retarded.”
A Miao suddenly chimed in, “They came back as well?”
“Yes, today.” He Shishi glanced at her. “Have you become stupid after giving birth? How can you not know about your enemy’s whereabouts!”
“I know!” A Miao peeled an orange. “Shen Xinglan did tell me, but I didn’t care.” She handed half the orange to He Shishi. “But she won’t be able to target us in such a short time.”
By the time Bai Yongwei knew that those people were missing, three or four days had passed. She began to worry that they would betray her.
“I think it is a good opportunity!” Ji Yan said with a smile, “Mom, you also think that Shen Xinglan has them, right?”
“Who else then?” Bai Yongwei said affirmatively. “He must want them to betray me.”
Ji Yan nodded solemnly. “I remember that you telling me you only contacted them through the internet and they didn’t even know if you are a man or a woman.”
“Yes! I transferred money to them online too.” Bai Yongwei laughed. “They have no evidence to betray me!”
“But we have!” Ji Yan looked at her. “Do those missing people have families? If we tell them their families disappeared because they offended some people…”
“They offended Shen Xinglan, so they were kidnapped!”
Bai Yongwei immediately understood and laughed, “I have a good son. You solved my big problem!”
It was the weekend. Little Demon stood at the door and looked coldly at the person outside.
“Police investigation. Please let me in.”
It was unknown how many times the police had come to the Shens’ house. This time was different because the one who came was a policewoman and she looked very unfriendly.
“Investigate what?” Little Demon was not afraid of her. She looked at her with both hands folded.
“If you don’t cooperate, I will charge you for obstructing official duties.” The policewoman was very tough. “I want to see Shen Xinglan.”
It was the first time that Little Demon heard the police call her Boss by his name. She frowned and said, “He is not here.”
“I called his office, and the reception said he had already left.” The policewoman once again showed her work permit. “I am doing my duty, and you had better get out of the way.”
“Deng Yue?” Ling Lang and Le Yi came for dinner carrying Chu Bai. They had dinner together every weekend.
The policewoman turned her head. “Ling Lang?”

“Why don’t you come in and wait?” Le Yi nodded at Deng Yue with a distant smile.
Ling Lang looked at him. “I guess Shen Xinglan is shopping for A Miao again.”
