Chapter 227 Set out to Relieve the Vermin (1/2)
Wei Meng's party found the stockaded village that Xu Shiguang mentioned, and also met the chief. But the chief could not identify the vermin before him seeing A Miao face to face.
”Boss, what are we going to do?” Shen I asked on the phone. ”We tried to convince the chief, but she said she couldn't do anything before meeting A Miao.”
Shen Xinglan kept silent for a long time then finally said, ”I understand. Wait for my order.”
After hanging up the phone, Shen Xinglan immediately called Le Yi.
”Can A Miao travel a long way now given her health condition?”
Le Yi and Ling Lang were bathing the baby when Shen Xinglan called him. Hearing this, he knew something must have gone wrong.
”What happened? Does A Miao have to go there?”
Shen Xinglan repeated to Le Yi what Shen I had told him.
”Her health is not the only thing I am worried about...”
Le Yi fully understood his fear because anyone would be afraid if they knew that there was a bug in their belly. The more important thing was that A Miao was carrying a baby. When he thought about a bug living with his baby...
”But if you don't tell her, how can you take her there?” Le Yi knew that it was cruel, but there was no other way.
Shen Xinglan was silent for a moment before replying, ”I will take her to the hospital tomorrow, and you can take another X-ray of her.”
”What do you mean?”
”If the vermin is still around her heart, it means that it will not affect the fetus for the time being, and A Miao can be relieved a little.”
Le Yi hesitated for a moment before asking, ”And if the position of the vermin has changed...”
”We'd better just wait for the result before taking any action.” Shen Xinglan hung up the phone.
Listening silently near Le Yi, Ling Lang frowned and asked, ”What happened to A Miao?”
”That is... I haven't told you before, A Miao...”
When A Miao found out that she had to go to the hospital again, she asked confusedly, ”Didn't I just have a checkup?” She suddenly felt something and turned pale. ”Did they find something wrong during the last examination?”
”Le Yi wants one more picture before drawing any conclusions.” Shen Xinglan tried to be calm. ”It's not a big deal. It is just for completing your pregnancy files. He said he did it for Ling Lang during her pregnancy as well.”
A Miao blinked her eyes and said, ”Does this kind of thing also have to piece together as a set...”
”There is no harm in it anyway.” Shen Xinglan squeezed her nose. ”I'll go shopping with you after the checkup.”
A Miao didn't say anything. The next day she went to the hospital with Shen Xinglan calmly, but she still wondered if there was a problem with her body. Soon afterward, Le Yi took the X-ray film back to his office.
”It's still around her heart. It seems that the vermin haven't moved yet.”
Shen Xinglan saw the panicked expression in A Miao's eyes when he took hold of the picture, and he knew that she began to suspect something.
”What happened to me?” A Miao grabbed the X-ray picture and found many little white spots. She looked up and blankly and asked, ”What are they?”
Shen Xinglan held her hand and said, ”A Miao, listen to me...”
He tried to make the whole story as easy as possible, but A Miao's face immediately turned pale after she heard it.
”You mean, there are... vermin... in my...” She couldn't complete the sentence.
Shen Xinglan hugged her. ”Believe me, we can take them out. I will take you to Yunnan Province immediately.”
”What about the baby?” A Miao shivered. ”They... they're in my body...”
Le Yi immediately said, ”They won't hurt your baby. From the X-ray, you can see that the vermin only live around your heart. They don't enter the womb nor affect the fetus.”
”Just not yet... Is it going to bite my baby? Perhaps it won't bite but eat my child, ah ah ah!!”
A Miao suddenly went wild and stood up, throwing herself at Le Yi. ”Cut me open and take them out, take them out!”
”A Miao! A Miao!” Shen Xinglan shouted in pain and held A Miao tightly into his arms. ”Listen to me, listen to me. Wei Meng has found a cure, and I am going to take you there now. Don't act like this! Please! Please!”
A Miao's trembling body slowly calmed down under the comfort of her husband.
With sorrow in his eyes, Le Yi tried to persuade her. ”A Miao, everyone is trying to help you. You should be stronger. If you give up, how can the baby in your belly survive?”
”Is it Yu Sihan?” A Miao looked up from the arms of Shen Xinglan. ”Did he put the vermin inside me?”
Shen Xinglan looked at her and said, ”I promise you that I will make him suffer.”
”I'm fine now.” A Miao quickly wiped her face. ”When are we going to set off?”
Shen Xinglan carefully wiped away her tears and said, ”The sooner, the better.”
”Then let's go home and pack things up,” A Miao said firmly. ”Let's set off in the afternoon so that we can take the vermin out sooner.”
Although she was scared, she knew that she couldn't do anything now. People need to find reasons to be strong because no one can be brave for you.
With Shen Xinglan and so many friends there for her, A Miao felt obliged to be brave for the sake of Shen Xinglan, herself, her baby, and everyone else.
”It's not the first time you've fallen into despair. Shake off the despair like you did before.” Ling Lang rushed to see A Miao before she left. She hugged A Miao and said, ”I'll be waiting for you here.”
A Miao nodded firmly and said, ”Okay.”
Four hours later, the private plane landed in the city of Kunming in Yunnan Province. Then they took the train and arrived at Dajiang City the next morning. After five hours of traveling by bus, they reached the stockaded village where Wei Meng was staying.
”Shen, do you want to take a break?” Ouyang Jin asked, looking out the window. There was a vast expanse of beautiful wildflowers covering the sides of the road. Ouyang Jin came along with them to help out.
In order to make A Miao feel comfortable, Shen Xinglan had asked others to find a caravan from the nearest city to provide some room for A Miao to stretch herself out.
”Let me help you get around!” Shen Xinglan said. Strolling halfway, they found that it was time for a meal.
