Shen I took A Miao from home to the hospital.
”Boss was injured and has gone to the hospital.”
Shen Xinglan didn't want A Miao to see his bloody wound, and by the time the bullet was taken out, A Miao had just arrived.
”Slow down. I'm fine!” Shen Xinglan leaned against the bed with one arm wrapped with gauze and reached out the other uninjured.
A Miao grasped his hand, cried and stroked his wound. ”Don't move. Have you got the bullet out?”
”Hm, rest assured.” Shen Xinglan cuddled her with one arm and said, ”Are you sleepy? Hold on, we will soon go home after the doctor brings me the medicine.”
”Go home?” A Miao's face downcasted. ”You are already hurt.”
Shen Xinglan pinched her hand. ”I'm fine. I will be well in a few days.”
The doctor came in while they were talking.
”Director Shen! You're so lucky. The bullet nearly penetrated the bone.”
A Miao instantly cried out. ”That's what you mean FINE?”
”Relax. I am all right now.” Shen Xinglan clung to her comfortingly. ”The bullet has already been taken out.”
But the doctor still kept on talking without noticing the atmosphere. ”If the bullet had shifted a little more, you might have had the amputation!”
A Miao's hand began to shake with fear, and Shen Xinglan gave a grim look at the doctor.
The doctor shivered and said quickly, ”It's fine now. Just go back and have a good rest. Here is your medicine.” Not until he hurriedly left and stepped outside was he finally relieved.
”Huff, so scared!” The young doctor patted his chest and said, ”Director Shen let us worse his case but he still shot a glare to me.”
President of the hospital tapped his shoulder. ”Boy, you are still young. Let's go to the meeting.”
No matter what A Miao said, Shen Xinglan still insisted on recovering at home. A Miao was so nervous that she kept staring at his arms and even couldn't sleep at night.
”If you can't fall asleep, maybe we can do something.” Shen Xinglan clung to her and said. The little woman kept moving and occasionally touched his arm.
A Miao immediately moved away cautiously from him and asked, ”Did I just touch your wound?”
”I'm not so delicate.” Shen Xinglan kissed her forehead. ”If you are not sleepy, let's talk.”
”No, the doctor said that you need to relax.” A Miao closed her eyes and pretended to sleep.
Shen Xinglan poked her face and said, ”Rest assured. Just for this time, Xiao Mei wouldn't have any chance to shoot again.”
”I don't owe Jiang Hua anything.” A Miao said, ”He shot you...”
”You're wrong.” Shen Xinglan coldly scoffed. ”This is the second shot.”
He frowned. ”A Miao, he saved you once but also shot me twice. We are even now.”
”I know that we will be at the opposite side for the bronze mirror and jade pendant sooner or later.” A Miao signed. ”Alright. Nobody shall feel guilty confronting next time.”
Shen Xinglan was quietly complacent. He could have entirely escaped from that shot of Jiang Quanyu. But to relieve A Miao from too much guilt, he forced his arm to be shot.
He also let the doctor make his wound sound worse. Certainly, in case A Miao got worried, the doctor merely needed to explain it was dangerous only before the bullet was taken out.
”What do bronze mirror and jade pendant stand for? What does it have to do with me?” A Miao shivered. ”I don't think it's over yet. Something even more devastating is in store for us.”
Shen Xinglan frowned and held A Miao into his arms. ”No matter what happens, we must be together. I won't let anything happen to you or our child...”
”Is this Miss Xiao Mei? We have received a report that allegedly you have illegal guns and trespassed with someone on private property last night. Here is the search warrant. Please cooperate with our investigation.”
Early in the morning, the police came to Xiao Mei's villa. To her, that was a surprise but it wasn't unexpected.
”I have no gun, but only a pistol.” Xiao Mei directly threw out her bag. ”As for the trespassing, it's not me...”
The police got no good impression of such kind of princesses and they also did not know what the heck a Xiao family was.
”Then come with us!” The police brought Xiao Mei to the police station without hesitation.
At hearing this news, Jiang Quanyu immediately rushed to the police station with Xiao Yue, only to see protesters with banners and reporters around the gate.
”Punish the murderer!”

”Mr. Shen has provided us with the video footage, in which Xiao Mei indeed broke into his house with her gang yesterday and resulted in his severe wound.” The police played them the video.
Jiang Quanyu was surprised. ”How dare Shen Xinglan call the police? For he has not only guns but also lots of illegal stuff.”
”Watch the video yourself!”
In the video, Xiao Mei led her people to break into Shen Xinglan's villa. Not only did she shoot but also hurt him.
