When walking on the beach in the evening, A Miao suddenly said that she wanted to go back.
”Don't play any longer?” Shen Xinglan took her hand and said, fearing that she would fall down while she was running and jumping.
”There is nothing to see.” She picked up a shell and said, ”There are always the sun, the beach, and the sea!”
After living on the island for several years, she was tired of watching these.
Shen Xinglan thought for a while and said, ”Then we will leave here the day after tomorrow. There is a party tomorrow night.”
”For what?”
”Poseidon. I heard that the inhabitants here would dance on the beach with masks and then throw the mask into the sea. The farther the mask is, the farther the boat will sail.”
A Miao used to be not interested in group activities, but she still joined in this with great interest when she heard that the masks on the celebrations were made with special corals and they could keep her family safe and healthy.
”These are the materials.” The next afternoon, the materials which they wanted to make the masks were delivered here. And she said, ”These can be great if we make them in person. So, we can make one for each other.”
Although Shen Xinglan thought it was boring, he nodded on seeing that she was so happy to do this. So the two moved the table on the terrace outside and started to make masks.
”Miss Bai, your parcel!”
At the same time, Bai Lu received her parcel. She opened the box, singing a song, and there was a small bottle of pale blue pills. But they were not many, only a few.
”Only these pills even cost me tens of thousands! I hope you really work...”
As the night fell, the beaches on the south side of the island were bright, and souvenirs were placed in the wooden houses. Visitors wore masks and danced around the totem poles with locals.
”If we got separated, could you find me?” A Miao asked with a golden mask, only revealing bright eyes, ”Look, there is someone wearing a mask that is similar to mine.”
Shen Xinglan removed his mask and said, ”I will always be with you.”
”What if you lose me? If I went to the bathroom, or if we were separated by the crowd?”
”I can recognize you.” Shen Xinglan helped her to tidy the skirt and said, ”Rest assured, if you could not find me, just wait in the same place and don't go anywhere.”
A Miao nodded and said, ”Okay.”
Just like what she was worried, she could not find Shen Xinglan when she reacted. Because at that time, people threw their masks at the end of the celebration, and they all rushed to the seashore. She accidentally let his hand go because there was someone rushing to her.
”Xinglan?” A Miao looked around and many people had two masks. One of the masks was thrown into the sea and the other was on the face. So she could not find a silver mask.
That was the color she painted for Shen Xinglan's mask.
”Shen Xinglan!” A Miao was so worried to look for him. Suddenly, she saw a man with a silver mask under a coconut tree, and his height and body were exactly the same as Shen Xinglan.
But there was a woman standing by him.
”Shen Xinglan!” A Miao screamed again, but her voice was drowned by the waves and the crowd.
However, the woman had already kissed the man's neck. A Miao tried desperately to run toward them and saw that the man picked up the woman and went to the darkness.
”Impossible...how can it...” A Miao stopped and blankly looked at the direction in which the two disappeared, walking step by step. But when she was leaving the beach, she suddenly stopped.
She seemed to think of something and turned to the beach, and soon she had returned to the place where she left just now.
”That could not be Shen Xinglan!” A Miao said it firmly.
In the next second, she was taken into the arms.
”Are you okay?” Shen Xinglan was relieved and looked down at her for a long time. When he was sure that she was fine, he then hugged her tightly and said, ”We should not go to crowded places anymore.”
A Miao could feel that his stiff body slowly relaxed, and she smiled in his arms and said, ”It was a pity that the mask fell into the sea.”
”Mine is still here.” Shen Xinglan took the mask off which was hanging on his head and said, ”Let's put it in the bedroom after we come back.”
”It is said that it would be efficacious when it was hung in a place with water.” And then the two went away with their hands together.
”Then hang it in the bathroom.”
”That doesn't suit our decoration at our house... ”
”Then...”
The voice was getting farther and farther, and in the place where they could not see, Bai Lu was angrily stomping.
”She was even not fooled!”
Mi Na walked out of the darkness and stood in front of Bai Lu.
”You...” Before Bai Lu wanted to say something, Mi Na gave her a slap.
”Pa!”
”Are you crazy?” Bai Lu glared at her and asked.
Mi Na gave her a ”pooh” and said, ”Wench! How dare you drug me?”
Shen Xinglan carefully kissed A Miao who was sleeping and slowly pulled out his arm and then walked out of the bedroom.
”Hello.” He picked up the phone when he went downstairs.
”Boss, Mi Na and Bai Lu broke up with each other.”
