7 Learning magic | Part I (1/2)

”That's obvious. From the Supreme God!”
”Who's the Supreme God, again?” I scratched my head, not listening. She's so lively as ever. We are chatting in the middle of the day looking for any clues to reunite with Morning Dew or if he changed his name just as I am. I want to make haste for us to go back to our village. Wait, how can we even escape from this place, anyway? I furrowed my brows worrying about it.
”The Supreme God of Creation. God Noir? Are you even listening, master?” showing annoyance, she let out a very high pitched childish voice again then drifted away.
No taller than my hand, this winged pixie kept on flying restlessly. She said she can transform into her humanoid form or turn invisible if I like but that would be a problem. I mean, she can just stay the way she is. I don't mind. Anyway, I didn't listen to everything she explained. The advent of this world is something different from what the book I studied which Sir Lyol brought which drew discomforts to my head. I don't think Sprigg will stop spewing knowledge once she learned about it anyway, which makes her like a living-library to me, though.
I also asked her about the other person who came along with me since she's an all-knowing pixie because my first priority is to look for my friend but she said that all the knowledge she has is only related to me after she hatched or if she can appraise it presently, prior circumstances are not relevant to her assisting my well-being. Yes. That sounds precisely like her saying strange things.
”You should also learn that conjuring your magic power is like how you thought of transferring the water to the goblet”, she said while walking to each house I haven't visited yet. I might have missed something important after completing everything inside the castle. She still kept lecturing me how to use my magic. Naturally, I would've been practising it but I am worried about my friend not showing up after all that occurred. I don't want to think about any dangers yet, as I have survived the forest with strange beasts before. It's unlikely he will not survive that as well.
”Easy for you to say, you already know how to do it the moment you are born!” I argued.
”I expect nothing less from you, master. Let's try it again, then. Shall we?” she insisted with her magic teachings.
She said magic should have a solid base in reality, like how you perceived things are real and use it to shape various objects and entities from magic. Typically, when mages forge a new magical effect and bestow the new spell an incantation, a wand or grimoire is needed. A magic item then transforms the magic energy to the spell according to its incantation and to create a particular spell, one should have the essential magic energy and ingredients to fulfil it. However, certain spells are also created to erase, destruct, or negate a spell which is on an advance scale.
”That's where I come in. You need not a grimoire or a wand to perform such trivial task”, slightly bowing her head as if doing a little curtsy and then she added, ”given that we are connected, I can regulate the flow of your magic energy according to your emotions and assign the necessary magic power for you to create your magic, master. You only need to make sure that you perceive the magic you are creating clearly to shape it.”
Creating multiple spells or magic may demand more power to sustain it and I still need to visualize my magic energy to manifest while conjuring the spells I wish to create at the same time. Honestly, this is draining me. I should have known that learning magic is not just like taking the yield of branches in the woodland. How vexing. What I really desire to accomplish now is to retire in bed after searching the entire second wall houses. Even while dozing, she keeps on enlightening me the other types of magic.
”Normally, humans are only bound to one type of magic. Conjuring different class of magic vary from the complexity and the wielder's magic energy. Thus, it's not an easy feat but is not impossible as well.” playing on the splashing water droplets on the nearby fountain, I sat near the lamp post to rest, exiting to the first wall.
”Choosing from divination, incantations, alchemy, sorcery, spirit mediation, and necromancy must suggest that an individual is required to dedicate his life to some extent to prove its worth to the entities governing them” she added.
”Say, what is your magical aptitude?”
Leaning on the lamp post while drizzled by the fine drops of water under the mid-day sun, I hear her grumbled words since she's speaking using her mouth again. I should express my gratitude to the gods for making a water fountain in this area, letting her play in the water made me drowse off my exhaustion in using magic and searching this entire place. In spite of everything, I probably want to just take a res, sleep for an hour, and hope that I can escape this place together with Morning Dew alive.
