22 New Function (1/2)
The change was difficult to describe. It felt like something significant changed but Fraser just couldn't detect what changed.
The change occurred while Fraser meditated on his bed. He commanded his AI to sort his paid lessons into different folders in order to have a structure when he needed to search for a piece of specific information. So, for example, he had an ”animal” and ”plant” folder. Naturally, there was a lot of weird stuff out there and even something like elementals who only consisted of their respective element.
'AI, what happened? Did something happen to my body? It doesn't affect me right now but there could be long term problems. Give every change that just occurred.'
[No major anomaly in the body detected. The change that occurred is the spirit increase]
'Show me my body attributes and continue with the simulation of the spell model dark rope.'
Since Fraser visited lessons with the topic of spell models he invested more of his time and spirit to try and decipher one of those modified spell models. After all a major increase in every attribute whether it's the power, speed or cost efficiency greatly tempted him.
Besides Fraser didn't even need to sacrifice any of his max spirit if the attempted spell models don't work. As he learned that if the runes do not link properly or the shape isn't right then a small spirit part will disappear. The spirit that disappears with one wrong linking of two runes is nothing significant, it can be neglected with ease.
But small things accumulate and since there are thousands of runes which need to be linked with an almost infinite amount of shapes, linking patterns and rune sizes the number of spell models successfully modified is rare.
Though it surprised Fraser that even though the spirit decreased seemed to be dangerous the Magus holding the lesson had way more than a single modified spell model.
Also, the students attending the spell model lessons reached numbers of a few hundred.
Fraser quickly found the motive for many students. Each successfully modified spell model, whether it had an increase in attributes or not would be useful.
As a successfully modified spell model can be traded for many things. Especially since the trading partner was a Magus.
There was a rumor that a student luckily found the linking pattern for a modified spell model. Though the overall spell performance decreased, he still was able to exchange it with a Magus and attained the rank of Magus himself.
So many of the students hoped to be as lucky as the one student and tried to discover a modified spell model even if it took a part of their spirit.
However Fraser didn't needed to pay with his maximum spirit amount, instead, he just used up his spirit in general which can easily be recovered.
Thus he inwardly thought of trading one modified spell model if he had something he really wanted.
'I haven't even discovered a modified spell model yet. I will just wait and see how it goes.'
That is what Fraser thought after hearing the trading information from one of the students.
[6.58 strength, 6.74 agility, 6.55 vitality, 1.34/3.00 spirit, continuing with the simulation of the spell model dark rope]
'So my spirit reached 3 points in spirit. Did that changed me somehow?'
Fraser continued to sit on top of his bed while he thought about the change he somehow felt.
Just as Fraser finished his examination of his body whether everything was the same as always (His body was the same as a moment ago), something happened to him.
Fraser experienced a whole new world as if he suddenly walked outside for the first time. He somehow could feel and see the outside of his body. It didn't felt normal as he felt like he entered a state where he was able to watch himself from a different perspective.
The feeling was similar to his rare meditation Enlightenments as he would call it. Where he would also enter a state where he could experience the feeling of watching himself from another perspective and feeling small particles in the surrounding.
Yet this feeling was permanent, not like the short moment of his meditation state.
Fraser body began to sweat and he himself had problems of keeping his mind.
The sudden change in his perception caused his brain to experience a severe headache and his body felt like it just got thrown into water, the temperature alternating between hot and cold.
