Chapter 6 - A Little Favor (3) (2/2)
Su Jishi was not a foolish bookworm. She looked derisively at her toenails carefully painted and designed with petals, and immediately understood what Fang Xie was up to!

“… You don’t want me to replace my sister as a star for her remaining years on the contract, do you?” She thought it was ridiculous.
Fang Xie nodded with his mouth agape as though he was a fish.
Su Jishi became angry but she only smiled dauntingly, “Mr. Fang, didn’t Jinqing tell you that our parents divorced when we were eight years old? In the past 20 years, I have met her no more than five times! I know that many people have romantic conjectures about twins, such as how their hearts are connected or how deep is their sisterhood must be, but none of those apply to me and her!”
Sensing that she was losing her calm and perfect composure, Su Jishi took a deep breath before continuing, “She and I are two completely independent people. I have no reason to help her clean up the troubles she left behind.”
The last time they saw each other was when they were 18. At that time, Su Jishi had taken a geology major of a well-known university in the United States. When Su Jinqing came to visit her, Su Jishi had just returned from the wild; she was so dusty, jet-lagged and worn out that she had little energy left to chat with her sister.
In the following years, with the gradual development of technology, the two of them used the net to exchange emails, and later contacted each other through QQ and WeChat…Two people—one, whom became a big star and thus, had her personal relationships strictly examined by the company; the other, a geologist, who is hard to contact when she is out in the field for half a year and so.
They seldom got in touch with one another, until such a time came that they continued with their lives without any sort of communication. No wonder Si Jishi was clueless that her sister had morphed into such a beautiful butterfly of the entertainment circle.
And despite how ludicrous the situation was, Su Jishi regarded Fang Xie as a brilliant man. He did come with the idea of ‘replacing the star with her identical twin sister’ scheme.
However, it never came to his mind that the other sister was a hard nut to crack!

Su Jishi added, “Oh, you really don’t want me as her replacement. You might as well contact my mother now—she had always liked my sister better. Back then, after the divorce, she chose Jinqing over me. She must know where my sister has gone to.”
Who would have thought that her voice would suddenly become clipped?
But upon that tiniest slip of her emotion, a poignant expression appeared on Fang Xie’s face and he blurted out, “Miss Su, don’t you know? Your mother…she passed away…”
