”It's alright,” Xia Qingwei said. ”I quit.”

Director Sun hurriedly said, ”Please don't, the matter's not clarified yet, you…”

Xia Qingwei was a good teacher and was patient too. All the kids liked her.

Xia Qingwei smiled. ”Thanks for standing up for me, Director Sun. I know and I'm sorry that this caused trouble for the school. I quit and henceforth wouldn't be teaching here anymore, so these parents can rest assured.”

”Ms. Xia…” Director Sun tried to persuade once more.

”Stop persuading.” The principal appeared by the entrance and walked in with a dark expression.

”Principal…” Director Sun called.

Other teachers voiced out opinions as well.

”I accept your resignation,” the principal said coldly.

”Principal! Ms. Xia's…” Director Sun wanted to speak up for Xia Qingwei.

But the principal cut her off. ”Xia Qingwei's matter has tarnished our school's reputation. I'll never condone our school's teachers to be unethical.”

Xia Qingwei pursed her lips and cut off the principal. ”Principal, I resigned so that the school won't have further troubles. I don't want the school to have a hard time with such unrelenting parents. But it's definitely not because I'm unethical. I have to disagree with your words. My husband has been divorced for more than ten years and the same goes for me. We got together only after each of us had divorced ten years ago. There exists no problem of interfering in anyone's marriage when we married. Or is it because we both remarried and so we deserve to be looked down upon?”

”Just because my husband's ex-wife refused to let him go in these ten years and found out that we married, refused to wish us well, and came to ruin us, do those make me an unethical woman?”

Xia Qingwei stood up straight. She was a weak woman and not very tall, but the aura she gave off currently was intimidating.

”I was afraid of interrupting the school's schedule so I resigned, not because I have no morals. I'm honorable and decent, and I won't accept such baseless accusations!” Xia Qingwei looked steadily at the principal. ”If the school sends out a notice that even hint at my resignation due to ethical issues, I'll not hesitate to hold the school accountable!”
