34 Chapter 34 Pooch (1/2)
CRACK
A large crack appeared down the side of the egg and moments later a small piece was pushed aside. Suddenly a small white scaled hand popped out and started to break off more of the shell. I watched as the egg was slowly taken apart until a cute little head popped out, darting side to side looking into place once it saw me. A pair of bright blue eyes like sapphires locked onto me and a bright smile appeared.
”Frost?”
The little white scaled child leaped out of the egg and into my arms, causing me to stumble back from the impact.
”Big brother, I can finally talk to you.”
She started to curl up in my arms while rubbing her head against my chest. She looked adorable, like a little puppy that just wanted your love. I smile while rocking her with my arms. I notice Victor finally crawling out from under the bed and started to snack on the egg shell. I wonder if he would change if I gave him more of my blood?
Victor spots me looking at him and starts to gather up the shell with his tail and drags it back under the bed. He looks at me with a guarded look.
Cheeky bugger.
I refocus on Frost and examine the changes she went through. She's seems to be about about a meter tall with delicate white scales covering her body. She still has a small tail coming out from above her butt and seems to be growing small wings on her back. It's probably the minor dragon bloodline that changed her, it was originally her bloodline that I got to begin with. Artemis said animals were more prone to drastic changes then humans as well. I myself have changed in a few ways so it makes sense that Frost would also change. It's just that these changes are a bit much.
The first thing on the agenda is to get her clothes, I didn't notice at first but she is completely naked. She doesn't have much to look at but it is still making me a little uncomfortable with her in my arms, especially since her skin is so soft and smooth.
The three on the bed start waking up after they hear Frost's voice sound out. I leave them with the job of getting her dressed in something while I go get food for everyone.
In the kitchen a few people were talking and I overheard something going on about Erik. I walk over to Max and ask what's happening.
”Your brother needed to go help a old friend of his and will probably be gone a few days. We are gonna continue the goblin hunt around ten so be prepared.”
”Wait is Erik gonna be alright by himself?”
”Trust me, he will be fine. You haven't really seen it but there is a reason he's the captain of our squad and a well respected person in mercenary circles. Just wait a few days and you'll see.”
For some reason I could tell that Max is more worried than he's letting on but I have no choice but to just nod and finish what I came down to do. Walking back upstairs I can only think about my brother and the mystery that surrounds him. Everything about him that I thought I knew was just a cover and I still don't really understand how he was able to become captain at such a young age.
Opening my door I am greeted by the sight of the twins on the bed fussing about the clothes on Frost. I go over and Frost has a look of relief. She escapes from the twins and runs in front of me doing a little twirl.
