Xu Qingzhi twisted her mouth with displeasure when she recalled how coldly Gao Peng had treated her just before. She could not have cared any less about him right then.

The tumultuous noise continued for more than ten minutes. Finally, silence once again fell upon the laboratory.

Xu Qingzhi simply waited outside with a paper cup in her hand. She had already drank three cups of water.

Hope everything's all right inside, thought Qingzhi.

The laboratory's spotless white doors were pushed open, and Gao Peng stepped out of the room in a flowing white robe. He then sat down on the sofa and said, ”Pour me a cup of water, thanks.”

”Oh,” said Xu Qingzhi. She poured a cup of water from the water dispenser and handed it to him.

After, she sensed that something wasn't quite right with this picture. I'm your assistant, not your maid! she thought angrily.

”Is the evolution process complete?” asked Xu Qingzhi cautiously.

”Not quite, we'll still need a few more hours,” replied Gao Peng. Upon seeing Xu Qingzhi's bored expression, he said, ”If you have nothing else to do, you could help me tidy up the freezing chamber.”

In the Monster Slaughterhouse, all the monster corpses that the Southern Sky Group wanted taken care of were handled.

Every day, lots of monster corpses were processed here. All the meat, blood, and other valuable materials that could be harvested from them were transferred to other processing plants for further processing. The bones that remained were kept inside a huge warehouse.

On that day, all warehouse personnel had been reassigned to other posts. Only Dumby stood in the middle of the warehouse.

Well preserved bones rolled out of a chute and into the warehouse, which was at that moment, filled with the stench of blood.

Dumby stood silently beside the chute, raising its arm when the chute was closed.

Flames began crackling in its skull and then spread across Dumby's arm until they finally pooled in its palm, forming a white, watermelon-sized ball of fire.

Dumby hurled the ball of fire at the pile of bones, which was shattered into pieces in an instant.

The warehouse was once again as silent as a tomb.

After a long while, there was a clatter from the pile of bones. White flames suddenly erupted from it!

Bones now rolled down the bone pile, while skulls' jawbones clacked noisily against their teeth.

Thousands of skeletons were brought back to life inside the warehouse.

The surveillance camera installed on the warehouse's ceiling flashed twice before it went dead. In the surveillance room, the slaughterhouse's supervisor coldly said, ”Pretend you didn't see anything just now. From now on, turn off the surveillance cameras every time it's inside the slaughterhouse. Do I make myself clear?”

The security guard nodded obediently.

His wife had a job in the Southern Sky Group, and his daughter was attending a kindergarten which was sponsored by the group as well. He had too much at stake to disobey his superior.

In the warehouse, Dumby straightened its black finger bones and then closed them together.

All of a sudden, the reanimated skeletons collapsed to the ground. White flames emerged from their bones and swirled into a huge ball of fire in the air, which was then absorbed by Dumby's body.

A shiver ran through Dumby's body as the inferno continued to burn in its eye sockets. Its Blood-Thread Heart was thumping heavily against its chest.

After a while, Dumby calmed down, its bones now much shinier than before.
