29 Yue Wan Scheming (1/2)

After the initial surprise, Xiao Yao and Yue Wan started eating as well. Though they were still surprised as Sofie continued to eat, even after the second portion.

” By the way, if I'm not remembering wrong, you should have picked a cultivation manual and a martial art technique after the lecture on cultivation. What did you choose?” Ling Yue asked, as she interestedly observed Sofie. Waiting for an answer.

”Cultivation manual? I-I chose a cultivation manual called [Fire Lord Qi] and the martial art technique I chose is a qi spell called [Conjure Fire Rabbit].” Sofie stopped eating and honestly answered the question asked by Ling Yue.

”Hm… I have heard about the [Conjure Fire Rabbit] and the stronger version [Conjure Fire Rabbits], but the [Fire Lord Qi] cultivation manual is something new. Never think I have heard about that before, but oh well… There are so many cultivation manuals in the martial hall pagoda. Remembering all of them is close to impossible.” Ling Yue said as she let out a somewhat depressed sigh.

Sofie did not bother with Ling Yue after answering her earlier question and had already begun eating the food in front of her.

”Ah, that was good! The scorching sun sect really has a lot of good food, we should definitely come again!” Sofie finally finished eating and let out a satisfied sound as she looked at the three people sitting around the table waiting for her to finish.

The surrounding disciple had already gotten used to seeing Sofie devour a large amount of food, so seeing her stopping and hearing her say she was done came as quite a shock to them. They thought she would continue eating until the dining hall ran out of food!

”Finally, I thought you would eat everything in here!” Xiao Yao said as she jumped up from her seat.

”Yeah, it's getting late by now and if I don't get back in time my roommate will flip the sect grounds upside down looking for me…” Ling Yue said with a tired look on her face.

Sofie just nodded and followed them out of the dining hall. Wondering who Ling Yue's roommate was. Maybe they would meet sometime in the future?

Finished eating dinner, Sofie, Xiao Yao and Yue Wan made their way home after saying their farewells to Ling Yue as she lived in another area of the sect grounds.

”Xiao Yao?” Sofie asked in low voice, as she turned to the side and looked up at Xiao Yao.

”Hm? What is it?” Xiao Yao answered questioningly while tilting her head slightly to the left.

”Ah, I- I was just wondering what I was supposed to do tomorrow morning. Is there another lecture or maybe training or something like that?” Sofie asked, as she never really found out what she would be doing from this day forward.

”Hmm… Not really… After you get a cultivation manual and martial art technique, you are pretty much free to do whatever you want as long as you remember to cultivate. Me and Yue Wan use most of the time to either cultivate to increase out cultivation realm, practice the weapon skills we have or go and take up missions in the mission hall.” Xiao Yao answered slowly as she explained about her and Yue Wan's daily life in the sect.

”Mission hall? I heard about it from Ling Yue, but what is missions? Do you get anything for doing the missions? Can you get Food as a reward!?” Questioning, Sofie asked a few questions as the questions slowly moved towards the topic of getting food.

”Pft, haha. No you don't get food from completing the missions, you get something called mission points. Missions are tasks which you do for the sect, sometimes hunting demon beast and other times tending the herb garden. Now that I think about it, you can use mission points to buy some rare spirit fruits…” Letting out a giggle, Xiao Yao did not forget to the questions asked.

”REALLY!” Sofie was excited when she heard that she could use the so-called mission points to trade for fruits, Sofie really loved fruits dearly. One of her weaknesses was sweet things and many of the fruits back home were sweet, therefore increasing her love for the food known as fruits.

Spirit fruits or fruits, both of them had fruit in the name. One just had spirit in front of it, it should still be a sweet and delicious fruit… Right?

Thinking about it, Sofie thought the spirit in front of the fruit meant it was sweeter and therefore better than normal fruits.

The further down this line of thinking Sofie went. The more certain she became that she should take some time to complete some of the missions in the mission hall and gather together some mission points, so she could get her hands of some of the so-called spirit fruits.
