Finding Han Siqi has stayed out for the whole night, Fu Zhengzheng is raging. At this moment, her phone rings.
If it’s from Han Siqi, she won’t answer it!
She picks up the phone indignantly and finds it’s from Zhu Linglong.
She answers it immediately.
“Zhengzheng, have you got up?” Zhu Linglong asks in a crisp voice.
“I’m about to get up.”
“You haven’t got up? Then I’ll go upstairs for you.”
“Go upstairs for me? You are in C City?” Fu Zhengzheng jumps out of the bed quickly.
“Yes. I just arrived and rushed to your home for you.”
Fu Zhengzheng hangs up the phone at once, steps on the carpet with bare feet and runs towards the door.
Once opening the door,
she hears the footsteps. She cranes her neck to look and it’s really Zhu Linglong.
She rushes over to hold Zhu Linglong’s hands and shouts with excitement, “Linglong, how do you know my home?”
“Zhongxu took me here.”
“Zhongxu?” Fu Zhengzheng looks behind her.
“He has gone to work. After taking me to your yard, he left.”
“Zhongxu just came here yesterday, but you come today. Linglong, are you worried about him?” Fu Zhengzheng teases deliberately.
“I’m worried about him? I give him enough freedom.” Then Zhu Linglong shrugs, “I don’t come for him but to solve the trouble he made.”
Fu Zhengzheng is startled and asks urgently, “What trouble did Zhongxu make?”
“Look, you don’t wear shoes and socks. Don’t catch a cold. Let’s enter and talk on the bed.”
Zhu Linglong drags Fu Zhengzheng toward the room and closes the door.
Fu Zhengzheng stands at the door and asks urgently again, “What trouble did he make on earth? How serious?”
Zhu Linglong points to the bed. Fu Zhengzheng has no choice but to jump onto the bed, crawl into the quilt and moves aside. After Zhu Linglong gets into the bed too, she fetches two soft pillows for them and then asks for the third time.
“About you and Siqi.”
“Siqi and me? What’s the relation with the trouble?” Fu Zhengzheng is confused.
“Was Siqi jealous because Zhongxu pretended to be Yang Tao?”
“You know it too?”
“Yeah. Zhongxu told me but I didn’t believe him.” Zhu Linglong thumps her chest and stamps her feet, “Damn Min Zhongxu! I’m almost pissed off by him!”
“Why are you angry? The one should be angry is me.”
“Why am I not angry?” Zhu Linglong tells her bet with Min Zhongxu to Fu Zhengzheng.
Before Min Zhongxu came to C City, he met Yang Tao by accident when he had a walk with Zhu Linglong one day. He told her that Yang Tao is Fu Zhengzheng’s senior fellow apprentice and Han Siqi has been jealous of him many times. Zhu Linglong thought Yang Tao is not on the same level as Siqi and Han Siqi, who had registered for marriage with Fu Zhengzheng, couldn’t be jealous of this man. Therefore, they made a bet and reached an agreement that the winner would be the decision-maker of the household affairs.
“You made such a bet!” Fu Zhengzheng feels both amused and annoyed.
“We just wanted to play a small joke originally, but unexpectedly Siqi made a storm in a teacup and dared to run away from home to frighten you.”
“You even know this?”
“Of course.” Zhu Linglong bursts into laughter.
“Why are you laughing?” Fu Zhengzheng is puzzled.
Zhu Linglong doesn’t explain until she has laughed for quite a while.
“Zhengzheng, let me tell you the story. After Siqi left here last night, he went to eat night snack with Zhongxu, and they kept eating till 3:00 a.m. Finding you didn’t call him, Siqi told Zhongxu that he suspected you didn’t love him anymore and asked Zhongxu to call you and fish for your thought to check if you really didn’t love him anymore. Zhongxu agreed to call you but said he couldn’t call you to his face, in case you heard something wrong. In that case, the situation would be worse. Siqi had no choice but to go back to the hotel with him and live in the next room.”
“But I didn’t receive Zhongxu’s call last night.” Fu Zhengzheng gropes for her phone to prove what she says is true.
“Listen to me patiently. It’s only an excuse for Zhongxu to say that he couldn’t call you to Siqi’s face. Think about it. The trouble was caused by him. You were still angry with him. Dared he call you to ask about it? So he steadied Siqi on purpose. After Siqi left, he called me about it and asked me how to talk with you. I seldom saw Siqi yield, so I told Zhongxu not to call you temporarily and to make Siqi worry deliberately. Zhongxu told me that Siqi called him several times to ask about the result. Zhongxu told him to wait because he hadn’t figured out the best expression. Can you imagine Siqi’s worried look with a dark face?”
“I can’t.” Fu Zhengzheng curls her lips, “How can he suspect I don’t love him? If I don’t love him, would I ask him to come to C City? Would I try my best to speak a good word for him before my parents? Would I try every effort to help him please my parents? Is he foolish?”
Zhu Linglong hugs Fu Zhengzheng and smiles, “Because he cares about you too much, when he finds you are close to other men, he will not be calm and become jealous unreasonably.”
“I have told him for dozens of times that I don’t have feelings for Yang Tao and Sun Dongze, but he still doesn’t believe me. If a couple doesn’t have the basic trust, what’s the point of living together?”
