Chapter 27 Live Together (1/2)
When she recognizes it is Lin Jiao, her face immediately sinks and she looks around and says, “What else do you want to do? If you go on like this, I won’t be so easy on you!”
But instead of seeing Lin Jiao’s helpers, she hears Lin Jiao keep apologizing in a low voice, “I’m sorry, Miss Fu, I shouldn’t have done that to you. It’s my fault. Please forgive me.”
Fu Zhengzheng then notices Lin Jiao’s haggard face, completely contrary to her previous arrogance. Fu Zhengzheng is shocked but still doesn’t believe. “That fire was really set off by you?”
Lin Jiao shakes her head desperately, but after pausing for thought, she nods furiously. “I did that. I am sorry.”
Fu Zhengzheng asks, “Haohao wasn’t hurt badly, and you know that. Do you think you should go so far as to kill me for such a trivial matter? You didn’t take national laws seriously at all. Fortunately, we were quick to react; otherwise, I don’t believe you can have a good life in the second half of your life.”
“I’m sorry. I’m wrong, Miss Fu. You can scold me or hit me as you like. I just beg you to let it pass, or my family will have no place to hide.” Lin Jiao keeps apologizing while crying with a grievance, looking pitifully.
Fu Zhengzheng is confused. “Have no place to hide? Really? I didn’t call the police.”
“It’s…” Lin Jiao looks afraid. She wants to say something but stops.
“Han?” Fu Zhengzheng asks tentatively.
Lin Jiao nods furiously and becomes tearful again. “Miss Fu, I really know that I was wrong. I beg you to forgive me, will you?”
Fu Zhengzheng feels there is something wrong. “Does it work to beg me? Who asked you to beg me?”
“I come to beg you by myself. Miss Fu, only if you forgive me, will Mr. Han stops bothering me. Miss Fu, please forgive me.” Lin Jiao almost kneels down.
Does he care so much about it because he cares about her? Fu Zhengzheng is in a complicated mood, but she immediately shakes her head, warning herself that Han Siqi is not Zhuangzhuang, but only the object of her investigation!
Seeing this, Lin Jiao’s pale face is even paler. “Miss Fu, Miss Fu, I…”
“Forget it.” Fu Zhengzheng shakes her hands and leads Fu Xing away.
“Miss Fu…” Lin Jiao opens her eyes wide.
Fu Zhengzheng nods and says, “Don’t worry, I will let it pass. But be kind in the future.”
Lin Jiao is so happy that she nods her head like chicken pecking rice.
When they come to the gate of kindergarten, Fu Xing asks her mother with puzzlement, “Mommy, she’s going to burn us to death. Why do you forgive her?”
“Xingxing, doesn’t Miss Li often teach you that children who can correct their mistakes are good children? Adults sometimes make mistakes, too. But we should forgive her as long as she admits her mistakes. Besides, you are a man, so you should be more forgiving.”
Fu Xing is puzzled. “But Daddy said that we couldn’t go easy on bad guys.”
Daddy again! Fu Zhengzheng is annoyed and says, “Mommy says we can forgive her! How can a child have so many ‘whys’?”
“Ok, let’s forgive her. Why get angry?” Fu Xing enters the kindergarten while muttering.
After watching him enters the kindergarten, Fu Zhengzheng slowly turns around and goes to the company while keeps thinking about Lin Jiao. She always feels that something is wrong, but she can’t figure it out at once.
When she arrives at the company, she doesn’t see Han Siqi. Then she sinks into thoughts in her chair.
These days, she has quietly inquired about the names of some companies that have business relations with Weihan Group, carefully “cleaned” Han Siqi’s office for several times and also “swept up” his home, but hasn’t found any clue.
Yang Tao also hasn’t found any relationship between Li Xiaomeng and any undesirable groups. That makes Fu Zhengzheng really believe in what he has said.
But she didn’t tell Yang Tao what she had found out, because once she says it, she may have to leave Weihan and B City.
She is reluctant to leave.
She knows she shouldn’t be like this and shouldn’t forget her identity, but she just can’t control herself. Especially when she heard what Lin Jiao said today, she becomes more reluctant to leave.
In fact, her relationship with Han Siqi has become a little subtle these days.
She deliberately keeps some distance from him, and he has changed his previous frivolous attitude, but often looks at her with an inquiring eye—although she does not face him squarely, she can feel it.
The sound of footsteps interrupts Fu Zhengzheng’s thoughts. Looking up, Fu Zhengzheng sees Xu Yan run in like a gust of wind.
“What’s the matter?” She also runs along and sees Xu Yan closing the window before she knows it is raining outside.
“What’s the matter? I know you’re sitting here in a daze.” After closing the window, Xu Yan laughs with some anger and says, “If there is a mess, I will have to clean it up with you.”
Fu Zhengzheng, who is a little embarrassed, holds Xu Yan’s hand and grins. “I know you care about me.”
“Zhengzheng,” Xu Yan looks at the door before whispering, “You chatted with me happily the other day, but you have become silent these days. What happened? I know my ability is limited, but I will definitely help you if I can.”
Fu Zhengzheng immediately covers it up by says smilingly, “Xu Yan, I’m really okay. You are worrying too much. Maybe I am in a bad state because my period is coming.”
“I’ll be relieved if you are really ok.” Xu Yan dares not ask anything more, fearing that she may run into Han Siqi again. Then she rushes back to her work.
Even Xu Yan feels her anomaly, so it seems that her ability to disguise is getting worse and worse. Fu Zhengzheng taps on her head, warning herself.
