Qing Zhui and Jiang Hao exchanged glances. Each of them picking their last cucumbers before leaving the field. Even though the sacks were not full, they were certainly at least almost half-filled.

Chen Pingdao entered the house to retrieve a narra wood box. He opened it and took out a piece of leather to give it to Ning Tao.

Ning Tao took it and looked at it. It was no ordinary leather. Neither was the content inside. However, he quickly put it into his small medicine chest before having a good look at it.

Chen Pingdao urged anxiously. “Please leave quickly. It’s very late. I want to sleep. You should go back to rest too.”

Ning Tao thought that it was enough too. He smiled and said, “Then we’ll take our leave. You may rest well. If I have any more questions in the future, I’ll come here again to seek for your advice.”

Chen Pingdao appeared to be gritting his teeth at Ning Tao. “You’re thinking of coming again?”

Ning Tao said, “Didn’t you say it? Once I’ve cultivated until the Out-of-Body stage, I can come to ask you for the secrets of the Out-of-Body primordial spirit. Do you forget about it?”

Chen Pingdao immediately smacked his own mouth.

“Alright, we’re leaving.” Ning Tao turned to leave.

“Goodbye, Senior Chen,” Jiang Hao said.

Chen Pingdao waved his hand repeatedly. “Never again. Let us never meet again.”

Ning Tao actually had no intention at all to ask about whatever trashy primordial spirit’s Out-of-Body experience secret. He just wanted to spite Chen Pingdao. Just earlier on, Chen Pingdao had tried to deceive him to enter the nest of phantom bats to hunt for treasure. His ill intentions were so obvious.

In the forest, the convenient door opened and the three were transported back to the Sky Clinic in the blink of an eye.

“I’ll go store these fruits and vegetables in the fridge. Otherwise, they’ll spoil,” Jiang Hao said.

Ning Tao said, “Why put them in the fridge? The spiritual field in the Scriptures & Scrolls Store is the best fridge. Give the fruits to me. I’ll put them in the spiritual field. It will be well-preserved for almost half a month.”

Qing Zhui and Jiang Hao passed the sacks to Ning Tao, then followed him into the Scriptures & Scrolls Store to take a look at the spiritual field. They were envious of the spiritual materials grown in Chen Pingdao’s spiritual field but once they saw Ning Tao’s, they suddenly felt that Chen Pingdao’s was nothing.

Ning Tao took the spiritual fruits out from the two sacks, separating the ripened and unripe ones, while saying, “For the ones which are extremely ripe, I’ll take the seeds out later and plant them in my spiritual field. You two will have spiritual fruits to eat very often in the future.”

Qing Zhui said gleefully, “Now that I’m no longer afraid of entering the clinic. I can come here every day to take care of the place, watering plants, removing weeds or something.”

Jiang Hao said, “Earlier on at Chen Pingdao’s spiritual field, I heard him talking about some old nest of phantom bats. You better not go. That guy is instigating you to risk your life. I was thinking at that point to wipe out all of his spiritual materials, but seeing that you appeared to be still on good terms with him, I had held myself back.”

Ning Tao said, “I know what he’s thinking, but the prescription of Demon-quenching Elixir which he had given is good for you two. The phantom bat is a very important ingredient of the Demon-quenching Elixir. I’ll devise some ways then decide whether I should try going there. You two go home first. I am always worried about Hu Xiaoji and Howling Celestial Dog; I’ll be assured if you two could stay at home.”

Qing Zhui asked, “Aren’t sister and Senior Yin both at home?”

Ning Tao said, “Are your sister and Senior Yin the type who looks after the house and children?”

Qing Zhui smiled, “That’s true. This Africa trip had erased the sins on me. I’ve achieved my goal. I’ll just stay at home to look after the children with Sister Hao.”

Qing Zhui was not going anymore so Jiang Hao had no reason to tag along to “catch the adulterous couple”. She urged. “Be careful.”

Ning Tao sent Qing Zhui and Jiang Hao out of the Sky Clinic, then opened the convenient door back to the cave.

The cave was completely silent. There was no sign of the phantom bats.

Ning Tao retrieved a tactical flashlight from the small medicine chest then shined at above. There were a few cracks on the top but nothing could be seen.

Bang bang bang…

Loud gunshots from outside the cave were suddenly heard.

What was happening?

Ning Tao was stunned momentarily then charged out of the cave.
