Chapter 298 Additional Dish (1/2)

There was finally an answer to the question about the usage of the Heavenly Hound tripod, one which had troubled Ning Tao for a long time. The Heavenly Hound tripod was not a dog bowl. It was especially for cultivating dogs. The stray dog had become a spiritual dog after the cultivation. Its intelligence and wits had surpassed its peers!

However, why would a cultivating tripod as strange as the Heavenly Hound tripod exist at all?

Or perhaps, only Chen Pingdao could unravel that mystery, but that guy seemed to have disappeared off the face of the earth.

“That…” Ning Tao cleared the messy feelings inside him. “Howling Celestial, right? Tell me, what just happened inside the tripod?”

“Woof woof woof…” The Heavenly howling Dog barked in dog speech.

Ning Tao was slightly stunned. Could its intelligence have failed?

But who knew, Howling Celestial Dog then revealed a smile unique to the Native Field Dog. “I’ve gotten used to dog speech and couldn’t switch on time.”

Ning Tao: “…”

He was about to activate The Whisperer’s dog speech translation function, but it seemed like there was no need for it.

“Black and white…” Howling Celestial Dog smiled brightly. Its voice still contained a sense of childishness, “There was also gold… all coming into my body… After that, I fell asleep.”

It was a dog after all. It was said that the IQ of fully matured dogs was equivalent to that of a human child of about six, seven years old. Its IQ and sensibilities had greatly increased after being cultivated, but it still could not exceed the parameters of a dog. So, its temperament and IQ were similar to a human youth of 12, 13 years old. It was inevitable that its voice sounded young.

Ning Tao was not satisfied with such an answer, and said, “Think more carefully. What else happened?”

Howling Celestial Dog lay on the ground, with both its front paws placed over its head, seemingly trying hard to think about that question.

That silly action made Ning Tao laugh. “Forget it if you really can’t recall anything.”

Howling Celestial Dog lifted its head. “I remember now… there were also words… so many words.”

Ning Tao’s heart skipped. “What words?”

Howling Celestial Dog shook his head and said, “I don’t know.”

“Could they be runes?”

Such a thought flashed by in Ning Tao’s mind. His gaze shifted to the Heavenly Hound tripod which was still on the floor. But after that, he was left stunned.

The Heavenly Hound tripod was no longer the shiny golden Heavenly Hound tripod it used to be. It was grey and dull, like an ordinary earthen tripod with cracks all over, making it seem like it was going to break into pieces.

Ning Tao suddenly recalled. The Heavenly Hound tripod possessed a particular spiritual quality and ability. Just during the previous cultivation process, all its stored powers and abilities had been transferred to the Howling Celestial Dog!

In order to cultivate another dog, it would have to recover its spiritual quality and ability, and that would mean that a large quantity of spiritual material was required. The rotten broken tripod was also required for the repair.

Ning Tao glanced at the box of spiritual materials in the corner of the clinic, and thought of fixing the Heavenly Hound tripod at once, but the thought was curbed immediately. To him, earning money had become an easy deed, but earning spiritual material was more troublesome. He only had those few spiritual materials. Besides the question of how much spiritual material was needed to fix the spiritual quality and ability of the Heavenly Hound tripod, he had to consider a very realistic question. That was, after it was done fixing, what was he going to do with it? To cultivate another dog?

“Father, someone’s here!” Howling Celestial Dog suddenly looked towards the clinic entrance with its furry ears sticking upwards.

Ning Tao already possessed a “dog nose” but did not have “dog ears”. Even though his sense of hearing was far more acute than the one ordinary people possessed, but it was still not as strong as those of dogs.

Indeed, Bai Jing’s voice came from outside the door after a few seconds. “Brother-in-law, what are you doing inside? Come home to eat!”

Howling Celestial Dog’s nose twitched. “A female snake!”

“Can you grow up? Your electric motorbike is here. Don’t you think I don’t know you’re inside. Quickly come out to eat!” Bai Jing’s voice was slightly taunting.

“Woof woof woof!” Howling Celestial Dog pounced towards the entrance. The fur on its nape had stood up.

“There’s a dog?” Bai Jing’s voice was filled with surprise. “Why is there a dog inside? Are you hiding something from our Qing Zhui…?”

Ning Tao could no longer put up with it, saying in defeat, “What’s the rush? I’m coming!”

Howling Celestial Dog looked back at Ning Tao. Its dog mouth was cracked, revealing a smile. “Father, is it the mistress?”

Ning Tao curled his lips. “A debt collector. Don’t bite for no reason later. She’s fierce.”

“Woof!” Howling Celestial Dog barked.

Ning Tao placed the Heavenly Hound tripod which was covered in cracks back on the shelves, then went to get the door.

Basking in the golden sunlight, a casual suit, white blouse, short skirt, stockings, high heels. Bai Jing was in formal attire, exuding the vibe of a professional elite. Along with the perfect body proportions and ethereal beauty, she had become the most beautiful scenery in that quiet alley.

Ning Tao smiled and greeted her. “That outfit suits you a lot.”

Yet Bai Jing had looked past Ning Tao and at the entrance of the clinic.

Howling Celestial Dog walked out of the door timidly, seemingly afraid of Bai Jing. After taking one glance at Bai Jing, it hid behind Ning Tao.

Bai Jing asked curiously, “Where did this dog come from?”

Ning Tao said, “I picked it off the streets. Its name is Howling Celestial.”

Bai Jing was slightly stunned, then it was followed by a laugh. “Howling Celestial? When did you become Erlang Shen?”

“Let’s talk when we’re home.” Ning Tao couldn’t bother talking any longer with her.

Howling Celestial Dog followed behind Ning Tao, seemingly afraid that it would be left behind.

After entering, Ning Tao immediately saw Qing Zhui who was setting cutleries on the table. His nose warmed up, blood almost gushed out. Qing Zhui was wearing only a pair of panties, an apron and a pair of slippers. Other than that, there was nothing.

Moreover, that apron was actually like a dudou. A golden carp was embroidered on it.

Was it supposed to remind him of the legend of the fish leaping over the dragon’s gate?

Qing Zhui turned around when she heard Ning Tao’s voice, her smile prettier than flowers. “Brother Ning, I’ve prepared more dishes for you this afternoon. Come taste sister’s and my cooking.”
