Chapter 199 Faked into Actualization (1/2)

Jiang Hao had arrived, bringing along a team of specialists with her. Meng Bo handed the skull fragmentations which he had retrieved from the stone coffin to Jiang Hao. Jiang Hao merely glanced at them casually before passing to the specialist team.

After handing over the job regarding the skull fragmentations, Jiang Hao glared at Ning Tao. “You come with me. I need to talk to you.”

“OK,” Ning Tao responded. He had already predicted that Jiang Hao would search in him for the answers to her many questions in mind, so a talk with her was inevitable.

Jiang Hao led Ning Bo down a sheltered walkway. There was a pavilion, and the area was very quiet, making it a perfect location to talk at.

Meng Bo said, “The remaining people can leave now. But you better not blabber around, and even more so, don’t post about it on social media. The hostages have yet escaped from danger. If anything happened to the hostages because of you, we will pin the responsibility on you.”

The guests left one after another, except Zhao Wushuang who had headed down the walkway where Jiang Hao and Ning Tao had gone to.

Jiang Hao and Ning Tao had yet reached the pavilion when a commando-like voice called out from behind them. “Stop where you are. Please leave.”

There was no way that Zhao Wushuang would have left, and she shouted out loud, “Brother Ning! Brother Ning!”

Ning Tao paused in his tracks, and turned to look at Zhao Wushuang. Before he could speak, Jiang Hao immediately spoke up, “You wait.”

“Let’s talk later,” Ning Tao responded. He knew what Jiang Hao was going to talk to him about, which Zhao Wushuang obviously should not be around listening to.

He had just finished speaking when Jiang Hao promptly grabbed his hand and pulled him away.

Zhao Wushuang pouted instantly.

Only after entering the pavilion, Jiang Hao then released Ning Tao’s hand, and spoke candidly, “What was that Zhao Wushuang doing here?”

Ning Tao thought that she would have gone straight to the point, yet this was her first question instead. He grimaced. “Wushuang is filming in Guan City. She and Xin Zhiyu are acquaintances, so she came since she was invited as well. I didn’t know beforehand either.”

Jiang Hao mumbled, “Wushuang, Wushuang, how intimately you’re calling her.”

Ning Tao. “…”

“Back to the point. I’ve never assigned you any secret mission. How did you end up in someone else’s ancient tomb?”

“I couldn’t help it too. Who would have thought that there were pinhole cameras installed in the tomb, and had made video recordings? I know it had made things difficult for you this time. Let me treat you to a meal the next time as an apology, alright?”

Jiang Hao glared at Ning Tao. “Strictly speaking, this kind of thing is illegal. If legal responsibility were to be pursued, you would be prosecuted. Do you think treating me to a meal would be enough to let things rest?”

Ning Tao knew that it was illegal as well, but as the owner of Sky Clinic, the inborn go-between of good and evil, his evil side was to suppress evil with evil. This meant that he was destined to be “the punisher” which was not tolerated by the law. What did all this count as compared to suppressing evil with evil, and even the sins of murder?

However, he could not reveal such a secret to Jiang Hao. Ning Tao paused in silence before saying, “I’ve received information that the Xin family has the secret recipe to the ancestor seeking medicine. But I have yet to verify whether the information is real, which is why I had bore the risk to trespass on the Xin family’s ancestral hall and ancient tomb.”

“Liang Keming and Lin Qinghua had gone missing after the battle at the botanical garden. The ancestor seeking project had also gone into a hiatus. With your involvement, the superiors would have the intention to reactivate the ancestor seeking project.”

Ning Tao said, “Even without this, it would be reactivated sooner or later. I’ve merely expedited it.”

“I knew too that closing the ancestor seeking project is only temporary, and it would be reactivated again in the future. But now that it’s going to be reactivated because of you…” Jiang Hao paused and then said, “You said you were externally recruited by the Special Operations Bureau, so I can only explain that you were acting according to a secret mission I had assigned to you. From now on, you are an external recruit of the Special Operations Bureau. I’m your direct superior, and you must answer each and every of your movements to me.”

Ning Tao instantly froze on the spot.

“What’s the matter? You’re not willing?”

Ning Tao grimaced. “I’m a doctor, I’m not suited for your department.”

Jiang Hao rebutted, “You can deal with an entire commando team singlehandedly, and you located the secret recipe which even our whole department could not locate. You’re so great. Who could be more suitable?”

“Could you think of another way out? I really do not want to become some external recruit,” Ning Tao frowned.

“There’s no other choice. So many people have been mobilized because of you, and the superiors have even reactivated the ancestor seeking project, and have assigned me to be in charge. If you reject this, how am I supposed to explain it to the superiors? Think of it as helping me. Make it nominal. You don’t need to go to work on time regularly, and just need to help me whenever I need it. What do you think?” Jiang Hao’s tone had changed. She looked like she was pleading for a favor.

With her persuasion, Ning Tao felt like he would be being ungrateful if he were to reject her again. He sighed. “Alright, I promise you.”

Jiang Hao instantly smiled. “From now on, you’re one of mine.”

Ning Tao smiled back. “So, boss, how much is my monthly salary? Am I insured?”

Jiang Hao said, “According to the standards of my department, we would give you a starting pay of RMB 12,000. However, the money would be transferred to my account. I would help you save up for your future wedding. As for insurance, you’re an external recruit, so of course, it’s excluded.”

Ning Tao. “…”

“Didn’t you want to treat me to a meal? I’m also about done here, and I’m kind of hungry. It’s a good chance to accept your treat.”

“You’re not even going to pay me a salary, and you still want me to treat you? Aren’t you too unscrupulous? I have no money to treat you at a restaurant. Let me cook for you instead, and I’ll take you to where I stay.”

Jiang Hao said gleefully, “Sounds great. Let me have a taste of your cooking skills.”

The pair left the pavilion in all smiles and joyful chatters.

Zhao Wushuang had never left, and was still waiting at the walkway.

Once she saw Zhao Wushuang, the smile from Jiang Hao’s face disappeared in an instance. Despite not uttering a word, her expression could be translated into: Why are you still here?

Zhao Wushuang tested the waters, “Brother Ning, I’m sure this is… Officer Jiang Hao, right?”

Ning Tao responded, “You’re right, she’s Jiang Hao.”
