“Xia Yu, Shen Yan loves you. You can feel it from his words and actions. You didn’t come home last night. He was worried sick. He was both worried and anxious. Don’t overthink it.” Wanru would never believe that Shen Yan still had feelings for Zeng Mina. She asked Xia Yu to think about it calmly.

But Xia Yu really couldn’t let it go just yet. It might be because she was the one dealing with it. So, the thing’s severity got magnified countless times. So did her emotion. Wanru couldn’t feel her sorrow and pain in her mind.

Wanru’s phone rang at this moment.

“It’s from Shen Yan.” Wanru said to Xia Yu while pointing to the phone’s screen. Xia Yu’s heart bounced rapidly several times.

“Um. Xia Yu is at my place now. Okay. I know. Don’t worry. She is fine now. I’ll take good care of her.” Wanru chatted with him. After she hung up the phone, she said excitedly, “See. He cares about you a lot. He asked me to take good care of you. Stop being angry.”

“Enough about him. I want to be alone.” Xia Yu went into the guest room. She took out the quilt and bed sheet. Then she made the bed. She took off her shoes and lay down on the bed. She covered her head with quilt and curled up.

She heard Wanru walking into the room in a short while. And she also heard her sighing without saying anything.

Wanru pushed the door open and walked in at noon. She pulled off the quilt on Xia Yu’s head. “Time to eat. I ordered a take-out. All of them are your favorite dishes.”

Xia Yu sat up from the bed. Her head was dizzy. Her body was very limp. She touched her forehead. It was very hot. She had a fever.

“You eat by yourself. I don’t want to eat.” Xia Yu shook her head and said. Then she lay down again.

“How can you not eat? Get up and eat some. All of them are your favorite dished.” Wanru pulled Xia Yu up from the bed again. Her eyes were full of concern.

Xia Yu couldn’t win the argument with Wanru. She had to get out of bed and followed her to the kitchen. The dishes on the table were indeed Xia Yu’s favorite dishes. But she really didn’t have any appetite. Finally, she had some corn beef rib soup and ate half a bowl of rice under Wanru’s watch.

After the meal, Xia Yu lay in bed again. She was dizzy. But she couldn’t fall asleep. A lot of scenes kept emerging in her head like a lantern slide. They were all the moments when she stayed with Shen Yan.

All of those happy scenes made Xia Yu feel even worse in her mind at this moment.

She slept for a whole day. But the more she slept, the more tired she was. Her fever was getting worse. But Xia Yu didn’t want to take any medicine. And she didn’t tell Wanru. She lay in bed like a corpse. She only had some soup during dinner.

Xia Yu was woken up by her phone ringtone the next day. She coughed in a low voice several times and then got out of bed. Although there were some problems between her and Shen Yan, she had to go to work.

Standing in front of the office door, she took a deep breath and then pushed the door open. She saw Shen Yan sitting behind the desk at one sight. He looked at Xia Yu with a complicated expression in his eyes.

Xia Yu tried to keep a calm face. She greeted him and called him Young Master Yan politely. Actually, she had already surged up inside. A lot of emotions came out. But she suppressed them all forcedly. She walked to her desk under Shen Yan’s stare.

Just when she turned on her computer, Shen Yan approached. He stood beside her and wanted to reach out to touch her face all of a sudden. Xia Yu avoided him observantly. She didn’t let him touch her. She was only able to avoid him for the first time, but not for the second time. Shen Yan’s hand was on her forehead at last. He frowned tightly at once. “You are having a fever! Have you taken any medicine?”

Xia Yu bit her lips without talking. She pushed his hand away.

Seeing her cold look, a bit of anger emerged in Shen Yan’s eyes. He turned around and left. He went back to his office.

She didn’t say one word to him except something about work all the whole morning. The atmosphere in the office was extremely depressing.

Xiao Tang and Huihui had lunch together in the dining hall at noon. Since they didn’t have much appetite, they just ate a little randomly.

“Xia Yu, why aren’t you having lunch with Young Master Yan today?”

Xiao Tang asked Xia Yu confusedly. Huihui was also looking at her curiously at the side.

Xia Yu shook her head. She didn’t want to say. Her fever was getting worse. She felt like her head was about to explode. Her breath was hot. She thought about going to buy some antipyretic after lunch. Otherwise, she couldn’t bear it.

Huihui wanted to ask more. But Xiao Tang stopped her.

After lunch, Xia Yu went to a nearby pharmacy to buy some antipyretic. She didn’t want to go back to her office just yet. She sat in the nearby coffee shop for a while. She went into the building at one fifty. She went into the office hurriedly just at 2 o’clock which was the working hour.

There was a bag of medicine on the desk. She looked at Shen Yan. It might be him who bought it. Her heart shivered slightly. She put the medicine in the drawer.

“Take the medicine on time.”

Shen Yan saw Xia Yu putting the medicine in the drawer. He said immediately while frowning.

“I bought some medicine myself.” Xia Yu took the febrifuge which she bought out of her pocket and said to him flatly. Then she took her teacup to the pantry to get some warm water. She went back to the office after taking the medicine.
