26 Episode 12- Tank Friends (1/2)

Ellis and Mike sit next to a fire. The light of it was the only thing for them to see. The night was dark an quiet.

”It's creepy being out here. Especially with those things..” Mike sighs.

Ellis nods. ”Yeah it is.” He watches the fire.

They both jump when they hear a stick break.

Ellis looks worried at Mike.

Mike stares into the woods. He sees a deer. He takes a deep breath. ”It's only a deer.”

Ellis looks around. ”Lets hope..” he calms down but still keeps a look out.

Mike pulls out some candy. ”Want one?”

Ellis nods. ”Is that the only thing you have in there?” He takes the candy bar.

”Yeah. I guess I didn't take anything else.” Mike sighs. ”Idiot.”

Ellis laughs. ”Don't worry.” He grabs his bag. He pulls out some chips.

Mike's eye's widen. ”You had this the whole time!?”

Ellis nods smiling. ”Yeah. I wanted to save it when we needed it.”

Mike grabs it. ”Well we DO need it now!” He opens them. ”Ahh!” He takes a long inhale.

Ellis laughs.

*In the tank*

”So who is this person you want to get to so badly?” Vanessa asks as she sharpens her knife.

John drives. Not taking his eye's off the road but still listening.

Rosie groans. ”Someone that took my life away from me.” She leans against the wall of the tank.

Vanessa nods. ”I understand that.” She clicks her knife closed. ”I have a few people that I wouldn't mind going at.” She laughs.

Rosie stares at her. She turns to look at John.

*In the woods, morning now*

Finn walks alone. Thinking. ”Why'd you leave!?” He stops. Groaning he kicks a tree.

Voices are heard nearby.

Finn ducks behind a tree. He looks around. He spots two people talking while they walk. ”Ellis? Mike?”

Mike chews on some gum.

”Do you really have to chew so loud?” Ellis complains.

Mike nods. ”It's helps me not focus on my empty stomach.” He chews more.

Ellis growls.

Finn watches from afar. He sighs. ”I shouldn't join them..” He turns to walk the other way but freezes. ”Shit!” He turns back around. He walks towards them.

Mike stops as he sees Finn. ”Hey?” He looks confused.

Ellis stops and turns to see Mike looking dumb. ”What?”

Mike points to Finn without taking his eye's off him.

Ellis looks where Finn was coming from. He groans. ”Great. Just what we need.”

Finn waves at them. ”Hey.”

”Where's the others?” Mike asks.

”I left. I don't really know anything else.” Finn sighs.

Mike nods. ”So you came to join us?”

Finn nods. ”If that's okay?” He looks at Ellis.

Ellis rolls his eyes. ”Don't be slow.” He turns around walking away.

Mike smiles at him. ”Candy?” He holds out some candy.

Finn takes some. ”Thanks.”

*With the group*

Jackie stands in the front with her gun. Carrie stood in the back with Kizzy while the rest were in the middle.

Kizzy looks at Carrie. ”Everything okay up there?”

Carrie smiles while nodding. ”Yeah.”

Kizzy notices Carrie's hand clutching onto the katana handle. She looks at her worried. ”Right.” She looks forward. She notices Jackie looking back at them.

Jackie turns around.

Kizzy raises a brow. ”I'll be right back.” She walks through the group until she is standing next to Jackie.

”Somethings off with her” Jackie whispers.

Kizzy nods. ”I think everything got to her.” She looks back at Carrie.

Carrie looks off to the side. Staring at the trees intensely.

”I know everyone is not in the right head space but...” Kizzy sighs. ”I think she is trying to hold it all in.”

Jackie nods. ”She is. It's not good. I did that before I met Miley. I always wanted people to pay for what happened to me. I thought every human was the same deep down. Just some can hide it better than others.” She looks back at Miley. She smiles. ”But Miley made me see that not all humans are the same.”

Miley makes funny faces at the laughing baby.

Kizzy smiles. ”You really love her huh?”

”Yeah. I do” Jackie goes back to being serouis. ”But you need to make Carrie understand that she isn't alone in this mess.”

Kizzy stops walking. Nodding she waits till she is next to Carrie again.

”Done talking to her?” Carrie looks at her.

Kizzy nods. ”Just wanted to ask her some things.”

”You should be careful. If she finds out. She'll kill you” Carrie looks at her worried.

Kizzy laughs. ”I know.” She looks at her. ”Carrie?”

Carrie stares at the ground, walking. ”I'm fine. I'm not the one you should be worrying about. There are others here that have went through a lot more than me.”

”Still” Kizzy stares at her.

Carrie smiles at her. ”Just worry about yourself. Okay?”

”Okay..” Kizzy sighs.

”Stop!” Jackie stops walking, her arm out for them all to halt.

Everyone stops.
