35 Puzzled Quinn (2/2)
Quinn guessed the reason description were short was to make them less attractive or undesirable. As most kids tend to over-estimate themselves and pick these difficult arts even after warnings in the comment.
After warding of these meaningless thoughts he focused in the 4 arts he selected.
'Which one should I choose? they all sounded equally powerful'
He eliminated the Umbra blood art as he didn't plan to become an assassin or a serial killer at least not anytime soon.
He had already killed enough in his previous life and didn't plan on continuing the same job. Well that is unless someone doesn't court death, then Quinn will happily grant their wish.
He also removed Ethereal illusion art as he felt that it wasn't suitable for him. He always followed his heart moreover, Fran also advised him to do so.
Quinn was in a dilemma whether to select 5 elemental art or Primal evolution art, he looked at his friends seeing them seriously reading the description, but all of them squared down to 6 or 7 body refining arts.
After sometime everyone was same position, they all filtered down to 3 to 5 body refining arts. As they were getting nowhere all of them decided to discuss with their parents. So they went to their respective rooms.
After long contemplation he decided to call his mom, he knew he must tell them about his body physique one day or other. Today is better than any other day so he resolved himself lie about his physique while getting her suggestion about the 2 arts.
”Mom, today we tested our physique I er….er.. didn't have a special physique. Sorry Mom.”
He was slightly hesitant about calling her, though he had a physique he couldn't tell its origin so had to keep it a secret. Thus, he was bound to disappoint her.
”Quinn it's not your mistake, not having a physique is actually a very normal occurrence. So cheer up.” Helena wasn't sad or frustrated about Quinn's body physique, Quinn would have detected it if she was hiding her sorrow.
Quinn immediately went to other topic as he wasn't actually worried about his physique and didn't bother spending time on it.
The only thing he feared was his parents being disappointment now that Helena was calm and composed even after knowing that he doesn't have special physique he felt reassured. Thus, he asked about the body refining art.
”Mom the teacher asked us to select a body refining art after discussing with you Ihav…” Helena cut in before Quinn could finish the sentence.
”Quinn the body refining art will have a very profound impact on your cultivation but you must make an independent call about the art; you know yourself the best. Before selecting a particular body refining art ask yourself if you're appy with the body refining art you selected.
If you really believe that it is suitable the go for it. One more thing see to it that you would never regret your choice. I know you're a bright kid so have some self-confidence.”
Quinn couldn't believe his ears; he was expecting many suggestions or her past experiences or some long boring stories. 'Mom I'm only 5 years old right?' Quinn cried in his mind. After some chitchat they ended the call.
