then Martin told Arriane how he become her adoptive father.

david Hutchinson is his best buddy in the gang, son of the gangster leader.....

he used to court a girl ,whom he learned that the girl is Arriane's mother, but that girl fell in love with a rich man, the man in the picture her best friend's , family friend and first love .

then her mother got pregnant, her father didn't know, that her mother is pregnant before he joined the army, then her best friend told her mother that the guy died in the war.....

then she schemed to get her killed....

to make the story short David saved her mother from the killer, but her mother is traumatised by what had happened ......

so he decided to adopt her and leave her twin sister in the care of her mother...

he even paid someone ( Mrs Robbins) to take care of her twin sister and her mother because her mother is incapable at the time.

He became his adopted daughter because David Hutchinson need to take his father's place as the gansters leader, and in order to protect her......

he entrusted his best buddy to take care of her.....

that's the reason why David help him train her, because he wants her to be the next leader of their organisation ...

ARRIANE : so David is Mr Hutchinson? what about you? you're my adoptive father... i didn't even know who you are???

MARTIN : ah that...... I'm still youre adoptive father.... Martin Hutchinson Downer... me and David are cousins.....
