As she spoke, she raised her head and coincidentally saw two birds fly past the top of the tree. They flapped their wings, and during this period of time, a fallen leaf slowly fell onto the horse's body.
”Hoh, they won't even let the horses go. In order to take care of you, they really did do everything they could.” Feng Yunzheng watched as the horse gradually closed its eyes and died. Within his deep eyes, there was a trace of killing intent along with indifference. He said, ”How do you want to repay them?”
He does it.
”This horse's name is Qi Feng. It is Yi'er's favorite horse, so naturally, he can't just die in vain.” She walked to the side, picked up three chrysanthemums, and placed them in front of the horse. She stood up and looked at the wind with white foam around her lips. Her eyes were sharp and determined.
”Then, I will have someone pay for it.” Feng Yunzheng looked at the three flowers and lightly said. They were gently swaying in the wind.
”The horse is dead. Now we can only walk out of the forest.” Lian Ruyue's eyes slightly narrowed as she looked towards the sky. The sky was about to turn dark, so they had to leave this forest before nightfall.
If they did not appear at the usual bonfire party at night, there would probably be gossip. She was not afraid, but was afraid that it would implicate Feng Yunzheng. After all, he was a prince and the imperial concubine had to take care of him.
”Alright, let's go.” Walking out with her, Feng Yunzheng's heart was suddenly a little excited.
The road in the forest was sometimes flat and sometimes bumpy. The two of them walked and stopped.
In front of the crescent moon and behind Feng Yunzheng, the afterglow of the setting sun shined upon his body, casting a long, long shadow.
He walked slowly, his gentle gaze never leaving her back — in her young body was a heart that had lived for two lifetimes.
They were both the same, old and young.
Walking and walking, the number of trees in front increased, so Feng Yunzheng quickly walked forward. In front of him, his thorny branches and brambles would spread apart to the sides, leaving behind a wide enough space so that Lian Ruyue could walk without being harmed at all.
After walking for a very long time, the back of his hand was accidentally cut by a few thorns. He quietly hid his hand inside his sleeve, allowing Lian Ruyue to walk in front of him.
The two of them did not speak, but somehow, there was an atmosphere of tacit understanding between them.
”Are you thirsty?” After walking a few more steps, Feng Yunzheng suddenly asked.
Originally, Lian Ru Yue didn't think that since he asked, she would feel thirsty, so she said, ”I'm a little thirsty, let's go quickly.”
”Wait.” Lian Ruyue turned her head back and saw Feng Yunzheng's childish naivety on his face. ”Stand here and don't move. Wait for me for a while.”
Under her doubtful gaze, Feng Yunzheng walked up to a fruit-filled pear tree. He was so tall, so he reached out a hand and pulled a pear branch in front of him. He smiled and turned his head back to glance at Linyue and picked up three pears from the tree.
He used his sleeve to wipe the pear clean before passing it in front of her, ”Eat, you can't be thirsty anymore.”
Lian Ruyue looked at Riko in his big palm and reached out her hand to grab her. Holding her hand, she lowered her head and nibbled on the juice gently. It was sweet and tasty and her lips emitted a faint pear fragrance.
”Is it delicious?” he asked with a smile in his eyes, watching her eat.
”Very sweet, very fresh, and very thirsty.” Her face was filled with satisfaction.
