84 Chapter 84 : Honest With Each Other (2/2)

”I have a medical appointment later so it's best to stick to water for now.” Xiulan explained and gave the menu book to the waiter.

Hongqi also gave the menu book and dismissed the waiter.

”What's your appointment about?” Hongqi moved his chair closer to Xiulan and leans closer to her again. He didn't try to put his hands around her but instead he stared at her face too seriously.  Though this may look sweet but his deadpan expression didn't give that feeling for Xiulan.

”I'm... I'm getting my IUD insertion. It's like a high level birth control.” Xiulan was not sure if she should say this to him but what's the use of lying when he'll found out about it anyway.

Hongqi's mouth curved slightly for a second but his expression returned to being deadpan again. He was actually happy that she didn't try to lie but still she was so secretive that he can't help but sulk secretly.

When he is sulking, he always have a deadpan expression. He was not aware of this habit because he rarely sulks anyway and of course he can't see his face.

”Is that why you bought those kits?” Hongqi laid his arms on top of Xiulan's chair like he was about to wrap his arms around her. He wanted to touch or embrace her but since they are in a public place, he should at least add some distance between them. He felt Xiulan was uncomfortable from the sudden attention from the other customers.

”Yeah... my lab test results will come out after four hours and I'm dying to know the possibility of the results. The test kits' results are not 100% confirm yet so I still have to wait for the lab results. In case I was pregnant, then the IUD insertion won't continue.” Xiulan patiently explained. She peeked at his expression and it seems that he was not angry or anything since he still have that straight face. ”Are you mad that I kept this information from you? I mean my IUD plans. Usually, a married woman must ask her husband about this. Are you angry?”

Hongqi looked straight into Xiulan's eyes to see the sincerity in her words. ”No. I'm not mad or angry. It's your body and choice. We may be married but I understand why you didn't even try to tell me that. We aren't in that level yet that we are comfortable in sharing these kind of stuff to each other. Though, this answered a question that I've been thinking lately. I feel like you still don't trust me that fully yet. I'm quite sad about that.”

Xiulan snorted hearing that from him. She genuinely smiled from his answer.

”Why are you laughing? I'm sad here and then you're laughing.” Hongqi began complaining.

”You are really cute today, dear husband. Thank you for understanding.” Xiulan was really thankful that she at least got married to someone who understands these kind of stuff and won't throw a fit.

”You are really pretty too. Every day and always.” Hongqi sweetly said and quickly landed a kiss on Xiulan's sweet lips. His resting hands on top of Xiulan's chair are now on her nape to secure that she won't move her head.

This sudden sweet public display of affection gained gasps from the customers who were watching them.

”Are you really not mad?” Xiulan asked again after their kiss. She was not even angry at him that he made a roguish attack on her again and even in public! It's like she forgot to be angry at him for being such a flirt while people are looking.

”I am not. But let me escort you back. I should at least be there, right? I will be mad then if you won't allow me.” Hongqi suggested and tucked some strands of her hair in the back of her ear. He doesn't have the deadpan expression anymore. Rather, his eyes are now lovingly watching every movements of his wife. He was not aware he was making this expression.

Xiulan only smiled at him and nodded. The two stared at each other with such loving intensity that each of them are not even aware that they have those expressions plastered on their faces.

”Indeed. The Xing couple are really madly in love!” the bystanders who kept on watching them can't help but to comment on what they are seeing.
