Hongqi woke up slightly later than usual this morning. He may have slept longer than his usual four hours but it was still not enough. Add that it must be because he was so exhausted from overthinking and was slightly hangover too. He noticed that his wife was not in bed anymore which is odd since she's always late to wake up.

He quickly got up and went to the bathroom to take a shower. Once he's done, he changed to a red suit and went out to check where his wife. He noticed that her bag was still inside the room so he guessed that she was still here.

”Do I really have to meet your mother? You know I'm afraid to meet her right now especially you spilled a lot of secrets recently.”

That was the first thing Hongqi heard when he was near the mini office inside this suite. This is Xiulan's mini office in case she wants to work from home. He didn't come inside and only continued to eavesdrop the conversation.

”Idiot, if you didn't transitioned to a woman then you could have been my husband now. I can't meet your mom, stupid. I am really afraid she might lock me up in your family's mansion. Hahaha!” Xiulan laughed while she types on her laptop with a headset attached on her head.

”Husband? Mansion?” Hongqi's brows furrowed. He was curious who the person his wife was talking to. Especially that their topic is quite a distinct one.

”I won't ever stop saying that, okay. Tell her that I'm busy. She can visit my mom if she wants to talk about the future.” Xiulan said something very vague again that Hongqi can't comprehend.

”I am telling you, I don't have control over this. Besides, your big brother seems to be very popular to the ladies. Why is he still waiting for me? She continued typing intensely and tried to forget the conversation with Wenyan. She must go back to her main problem, this early morning havoc in the development department.

This early morning, she received an emergency list of bugs to fix. The bugs to fix were complicated and her development team won't be able to debug and fix this in a short time so she had to do it by herself. She can't even stand up from her seat anymore. She still haven't even eaten her breakfast too.

Because she can't even separate from her computer due of her enthusiasm to fix the bug, she might have to work from home today so she can smoothly continue with her workload.

Her head was still slightly muddled because of Hongqi's confession this early 4 AM. She wasn't able to sleep peacefully too. Due to that circumstance, she was slightly thankful that she didn't go back to sleep anymore. She was able to check the list of bugs to fix earlier than the usual.

She was so engrossed in her work that she didn't notice Hongqi was already beside her, watching her typing on a black screen and time to time quickly alt-tabbing from the black screen to a software looking application.

”What is this woman doing? Whatever she was doing, it looks so complicated.” Hongqi secretly remarked while he watches his wife do her work. He also found out that she still haven't eaten her leftover breakfast in the dining table. So he asked Bai Rong to come inside the room to serve the food to Xiulan.

”Good day, madam. I brought your breakfast.” Bai Rong announced and put the food on the long table near the door. She was confused why Hongqi was standing at the back like a suspicious person.

”Oh! Thank you so much, Bai Rong.” Xiulan was about to stand up but she suddenly saw a silhouette on her screen. She quickly glanced at the person behind her and she screamed like she saw a ghost.

”Ah! What are you doing there?!” She dashed towards her husband and hit him with her small hands. ”I almost had a heart attack because of you!”

”I apologize. I thought you saw me and only ignored me.” Hongqi chuckled seeing her reaction. He catches her small hands and kissed it.

For some reason, Xiulan was slightly disgusted when he kissed her hands.
