58 Chapter 58 : Temporary Runaway (1/2)

Xiulan had to stay in her parents' house today due to a very personal reason, she wanted to escape Hongqi's horny mood.

Also, her mother, Song Qingge found out that she and Hongqi were very much intimate during their honeymoon. Xiulan confessed that ever since she gave up her v-card to him, they were always together.

This caused too much distress to the poor Mama Song. She's suffering an in denial state that her youngest daughter might have a baby soon. Of course she's not pregnant, but with a husband like Hongqi, who has too much vigor, getting pregnant can happen soon.

”Ma, I'm not pregnant. I talked about it with Hongqi. He said that he'll try his best not to get me pregnant. But of course I'll also do my part as a responsible adult.” Xiulan irritably explained to her over-reacting mother. She has been concentrating on her mom's eyes since she was afraid that her mom might hit her or throw something out of frustration.

Mama Song is still hostile and suspicious to Hongqi. She can't fully trust him yet. Same with Nuo Shu. They can't point it but they think his actions are not genuine enough. Qiaohui, Yingpei and Shuchun are the ones that pretty much fine with Hongqi.

”My dear daughter, too much contraceptive pills are not good for the body. I think you should get an IUD[1] instead.” Mama Song anxiously suggested. She did not want her daughter to suffer from the bad effects of birth control. She thought if he daughter is not ready to have a child, she should get an IUD instead of overdosing herself in pills.

”Uhh... I've thought about it but I'm not particularly ready to get one. Also, I'm afraid it may cause difficulties in getting pregnant in the future. I still have to ask my gynecologist.” Xiulan explained. She thoroughly thought about it while she was inside Hongqi's jet going back to China.

She thought about getting IUD but she must search more about it. She's afraid that it'll cause her to have difficulties in the future. Usually they will last for 5 to 12 years depending on the type of IUD.

”Ah... you are right. Ask about it with our family doctor too. You are making me worried.” Mama Song put her hand on her chest to feel her anxious heartbeat. She's nervous in what was happening to her dear child.

Nuo Shu and Qiaohui were in an IUD when they got married that's why they never had the chance to get pregnant. Though those two had their respective reasons why they didn't want to get pregnant.

One, Nuo Shu's too concern about her husband's first love coming back and her relationship with her husband was too sad and painful to watch. While Qiaohui at first did not want to have a child with her husband but eventually she wanted one but the IUD was too effective. When both were divorced, the IUD were still in effect.

Xiulan's relationship with Hongqi seems to be harmonious but they must not put their guards down, they are talking about Xing Hongqi here. He's a notorious player back in the days. Mama Song must make an effort to keep reminding Xiulan that her husband is not an ordinary man.

”Wait, I remember something. Didn't you said to me before that I should call you an idiot or hit you if you consummate your marriage?” Mama Song has that devilish glint in her eyes. She wanted to lecture this daughter of her. She's not even sure if she loves Hongqi yet she bargained her v-card like that. ”Come here.” She gestured Xiulan to come closer. It was obvious that she's serious about hitting her daughter.

”Ma... I only promised you to remind me how foolish and idiot I am. I did not include any physical abuse.” Xiulan said and quickly scooted away from her mother.

”This brat! You don't even love the man yet you gave up so easily! If you're really get pregnant soon, I will really hit you so hard that you'll get your senses back.” Mama Song quickly stand up and pinch Xiulan's ears to come closer.

Xiulan cried when her mother caught her. Her mom kept pinching her face until its red. She was about to get spanked by Mama Song when her father, Song Yingpei came inside the room.

”Who is pregnant? Why am I hearing pregnancy stuff?” Song Yingpei suddenly came inside the living room. He was still wearing a suit while the old butler has his case. He removes his coat and gave it to the old butler.

”Oh my dear! This daughter of yours!” Mama Song exasperatedly reacted. She quickly ran to him and started telling him the cause of their melodramatic conversation.

Mama Song Qingge had to hit Song Yingpei's arms multiple times because he has that foolish dog smile on his face while he listens to his wife's woes. He is of course happy that his youngest daughter has a good relationship with her husband.

”Dear! You look rather happy than angry!” Mama Song fumed. She didn't let go of her husband's arms and yanked it like a child.

”Now now, my dear. Of course we can't control the future. Your daughter will have her own babies too. Aren't you happy? Our family will be bigger.” Song Yingpei caught his wife's swift hands that kept on hitting him and kissed it tenderly.

Xiulan suddenly shuddered. Her parents' flirting reminds her of her and Hongqi the past few days. It was so cheesy that she can't help but to cringe. ”Are we really like this a few days ago? Gosh...”

”Song Yingpei! I will really poison you one of these days!” Mama Song angrily strikes his hands and stands up. She quickly marched to the wide luxurious stairs so she can rest and get away from her annoying husband and that her conversation with her daughter made her blood boil.

Song Yingpei only laughed and amusingly looked at his daughter. ”Do you like him, my dear Xiulan?” He suddenly asked her. He has that genuine happy expression. It was obvious that he likes this progress. He only wants a happily ever-after for his children but it seems to be a very difficult goal.

Xiulan blanked for a few seconds. The questions was too vague since it's a question about like, not love.

”I like him as a family member.” Xiulan honestly said. She has innocent look on her face. It was purely her answer from the heart.

Song Yingpei snorted from his youngest daughter's innocent answer. ”Oh boy. Poor Hongqi.” The playful father secretly thought.

”Well... that's good then. Liking him as a family member is better than not liking him at all.” He beamed at his daughter then he stands up. ”I have to coax your mother, you eat first.” He said and left the room.

Xiulan watches her father's retreating back and she can't help but think deeper about his question.

”It's true, though. I like him as a family member...” Xiulan can't determine if this is a sibling, parental, or cousin level. But she thinks that he's by far important and part of the family.

She can't put the right word but she has 'unconditional love' for every family member. Just like what she feels for her bestfriend Wenhan. Does she need some wordy and deep reasons for this?

For the whole night, Hongqi kept texting Xiulan about her escaping him tonight. He would pester her until Xiulan had to turn off her phone. She prays that Hongqi would not try visit so late at night just to bother the whole mansion just because she's escaping his man-whore mood.

By morning, Xiulan finally got her 8 hours of complete sleep and is really happy. She even hums while she took a bath and get dressed.
