71 Chapter 71: Runaways (1/2)
While the whole imperial guards got alerted, the three of them make a run for it. They must get out before the guards circle them!
Jiang Liu turned to look at their pursuers and saw Jiang Chen lagging behind. ”Ah! Ah! Jiang Chen keep up!”
”Carry him!” Without stopping, Wei Yi Yi grunted and lifted Jiang Chen. She cannot control her strength and almost knock out Jiang Liu when she passed the child towards his back.
”That hurts!” Jiang Liu complained but still hold out his hands towards the back to support Jiang Chen. ”Ack! Don't cling too tight!”
Wei Yi Yi then took off her outer robe and drape it over Jiang Chen's head to hide him. They could be caught but Lil One must not.
Startled by the sudden motion, Jiang Liu turned his head. He saw as the wind blows directly towards Wei Yi Yi face, clearing it and laying it bare. Her hair that initially lays down flatly at her back, the edge of her robes, and her wide sleeves were swaying by the tune of the wind.
And the wind carried a faint sense of her smell. Jiang Liu pursed his lips.
Wei Yi Yi slowed down a little and took the rear. She would look back towards their pursuers and then look in front. Worried that Jiang Chen might fell down, she readied herself to break his fall at any moment.
Not counting the first one running at their back, the guards started to form their five-man team to intercept the intruders.
Each time they turn a corner and saw a group running in their direction, Wei Yi Yi and Jiang Liu would feel their heart jumping at their throats.
Feeling his hair standing at its ends, Jiang Liu made a sharp turn. Jiang Chen felt dizzy with this bumpy ride. He fears he might bite his tongue off if he complains even a little bit!
They run towards another area and then Jiang Liu turn. Most of the arena are interconnected with each other. While it is easy to circle them, it is also easy for him to run around the guards.
After changing their paths a few times, they finally circled around the guards and found a side gate left open.
They run outside the martial hall immediately.
Once again, Jiang Liu turned to look. He found that the guards are still stubbornly pursuing them. He shrieked a few times as Wei Yi Yi covered her ears.

Right, the three of them are runaways. Both of them are screwed. ”Tsk. Big guts you have.” Wei Yi Yi smirks. ”Lil one, come here.”
His aunt spread her arms open and so, Jiang Chen immediately let go of Jiang Liu and jump towards Wei Yi Yi's embrace.
