45 Chapter 45: Disbelief (1/2)

Before his hand could even reach his dad Jun could feel his body start to slow down. His dad's hand grabbed his hand then did a slight twist. Jun didn't resist against it since it was impossible for his strength to be stronger than a heaven realm cultivator. So instead he twists his body along with the wrist twist and lash a out kick aimed at his father's head.

Again he felt his leg slow down as it got closer to his target. He channels a surge of qi to his eyes and instantly he saw what was going on. There was a thick layer of heaven qi 12 inch thick around his body. His father blocked Jun's kick then did a reverse grip. Being in an awkward position Jun releases a surge of lightning qi to try to disengage himself from the grip. However it useless as it couldn't penetrate the thick heaven qi barrier.

”Weak. You think these make shift attacks will work?” Xing Tian mocked as he completely picks up Jun and slams him right back onto the ground. Then toss Jun into the air before sending him flying with a kick.

Jun crashes against the wall before falling back onto the ground. The room was reinforced through many formations. Furthermore Xing Tian didn't even go all out. This was casual move to give his son a taste of true strength.

From that clash alone Jun already knew his father's strength was many time his. Not only was the heaven realm qi restricting his movements but the heaven realm qi was many times denser than his current Martial realm qi.

An example would be the difference between a tall basketball player against a short basketball player during the tip off. The tall player would reach the ball faster than the shorter player even if they can both reach the same height.

Another example would be a car. It would take a Lamborghini a shorter time to go from 0 to 60 than Toyotas, Hondas, and those type of car.

In this case Jun is like a poor Honda and his father was a Lamborghini.

This wasn't a gap that can be crossed at all. It was basically impossible.

Even through he knew the odds Jun still didn't want to give up. In Jun's hand a formation appeared as he channeled his qi to create speed boost formation. It was only a 20 percent increase but right now every little increment helps.

Blacky appears in his hand as he sprinted forward again. Five illusions of Jun appear as each one went for different parts of Xing Xing's body.

Xing Tian wasn't even slightly fazed by it as he picks up a pen from the desk before breaking Jun's illusion apart.

”You're relying too much on your eyes,” Xing Tian commented.

Jun activated his sword essence before slashing at his father. His father took a step back and the sword slash completely missed.

No matter how Jun attacked and slashed each slash kept missing even through it landed on target.

”Like I said you rely too much on your eyes.”

My eyes clearly said he was there how am I missing? Jun thought. Is it instant movement skill he's using? If so then I will slash a couple inches further.

Jun continued to attack faster and faster as he got use to the flow of the sword essence, but the difference in power was way to big power. Even through Jun's sword control were getting sharper and stronger it was of no use since it wasn't an exponential increase.

Jun then decided to use his eyes to put his father in a daze. Jun stares into his father's eyes as a soul attack was launched.

Bam!

Instead Jun felt a soul shock instead because his father's soul was strengthen by Heaven realm qi and he felt like his soul was an egg against a rock. Blood slowly drips down from the side of his lip.

There were three types of soul attacks. An actual attack where the soul uses an attack similar to a person wielding weapon and then attacking. Then there's illusion where the user launches an attack that is more like probe to find a weakness in the soul before attacking it. Then there's a soul attack similar to the use of poison. This is where the user's soul would act like a virus when invading the other's soul which can cause poison, paralysis, and other effects.

Each of and everyone of them has their strength and weaknesses. An actual outright attack to damage their soul is strong and simple but its weakness is if it attacks the hardest part of their soul then it would have no effect. Then there is the illusion this attack would require more control and a strong soul to probe for weaknesses faster. The strength is that it is able to attack enemies stronger than one self, and if done well can end up completely controlling the other individual. The weakness is that the two people would be connected and if the other person is even stronger in both control and soul than it can cause a backlash. For the soul poison attack its strength is unless a soul is overwhelming strong than it can poison anybody. Weakness is also obvious as it is slow acting, and is harder to cultivate. Not only that but a tiny mistake during the poison soul cultivation could potentially poison one's own soul.
