147 Aftermath (1/2)

Although I am a bit mad about the fact that to stop him from rampaging is to destroy the bamboo sword, I still felt relieved that we don't need to kill Kamui just to stop him from rampaging. Without hesitation, I snap the bamboo sword in half and burn the sword with the flames in my arsenal.

Kamui roared and a big black smoke appeared from his body and it was like he was burned too. The darkness escaped from his body, however, too bad for it because before the black smoke can escape, Hikari appeared and opened her little mouth. A strong blowing wind started to appear causing the fleeing black smoke to get dragged along in the pressure. The black smoke was struggling to escape from the suction but it was proven futile when the power increased. Before the smoke can escape, it was sucked inside the body of Hikari.

Hikari tap her stomach and burped before she returned to my breast pocket with a content look on her face. She managed to eat a dark entity successfully. At first, I felt animosity towards the black smoke but now, I felt a little pity for the entity since that was the most futile effort it has done.

Asuza landed on the floor and collapsed. Ryoji quickly rush forward to Asuza and carried her. I approached them and looked at Ryoji.

”What happened to her?”

”Don't worry Kazuma, she just fainted from using too much mana. You don't need to get worried about her condition, I will take care of her wellbeing for now. Go and assist the others first and secure the body of the kid. He needs immediate concern.”

”Got it.”

After the event, the two students left hanging in the art club were saved. It was revealed that the two students were bullying Kamui due to his family connections while the person that was killed was also due to bullying. I shook my head with this case since it involved a lot of things and innocent people.

Kamui was hospitalized and sent to coma by the magicians attending to him so that they can remove the residual dark mana on his body. It was a good thing that Kamui did not die. According to Yaya, the reason why Kamui was overcome with the malice is due to the intense hatred he is holding in against his tormentors. This fueled the malice a lot of power causing him to be taken over.

Still, Kamui was now safe but there was still a jurisdiction on what he has done for killing his bully though I doubt it was severe since Ryoji is in the case and handler of Kamui at the moment. I am quite sure that he won't be troubled.

Asuza is awake again after the battle. With Ryoji letting her rest on his arms, she managed to recover. She was formidable and dependable but I still can't forget the fact that to defeat an awakened, you just needed to destroy the thing they hold the most precious or the thing that the malice gathered. If that was just the case, I would have been able to destroy the sword as soon as I know it.

The other magicians also recovered already and now they are already back to their respective assignment. As for Ryoji, he was back at his own work as a policeman doing what he can while still keeping a lookout on the events happening in our school.
