Afer some more talks which becme louder than their murmuring prior to now, Brad looked at the men surrounding them as guards and gave them a nod.

Immediately all weapons were kept away and they stood down, but did not leave their positions. Each one awaiting the next order.

”I see from your story you had suffered injustice like most of us here. For now I would not pass judgment, even though you are supposed to be punished for your crime of theft. I would await our village leader to do that.”

”Thank you.”

”Do not thank me yet,” Bard cut him off with a wave of his hand. ”There are rules here and they must be met. For now, we welcome you and you would be given a roof over your head but there would be two men watching your every move until ur village leader can meet you and give his verdict.”

”I understand. Thank you very much,” Cari appreciated him again, before turning to his side and thanked Jareth as well then walked back up to Astrid and bowed to her. ”Thank you so much for your help. I am in your dept.”

Not wanting to be treated as such, Astrid held him by the arms and helped him up. Unknown to her, Jareth was shooting glares at them.

He did not like that Astrid was being cozy to a stranger and touching him. They did not really know him and he felt t was dangerous.

That was what he though to justify his actions… but you and I know that was not the reason right?

Cari raised his head with her help and gave her a small smile to further show his appreciation of her, making her blush at the gesture.

Unfortunately for her, watching them behave like newly shy wed only aggravated Jareth more. ”Astrid, let us go. You still haven't finished treating me,” Jareth suddenly called out.

”But I have finished. Didn't we just finish before we heard the noise?” Astrid asked.

She was oblivious to the tune of his voice and the jealousy that was brewing from within him and shrugged at him.

For all she knew, she had done a good job in treating him and they ended up in an awkward position because of that with him, pulling her up on the bed to straddle him.

Her mind flew back to when she just finished caressing his wounds and using her powers to heal him and her breathing hitched at the thought.

Watching as her cheeks began to turn a faint red, Jareth smiled inwardly. Yes, he was still happy to be able to have such effects on her.

All he needed to do now was to take her away from that merman and bring her back to his side.

His brows creased as he stared at her. ”Were we? What about my massage? My body is still sore from the fight earlier. Isn't it your duty to take care of me? I need your expert hands on my body.”

'How could he say something like this in public.' Astrid thought and shook her head slightly.

”Oh my! They are so cute together.”
