Yu Huan had never seen Chu Yufeng so flustered. She grabbed his arm and asked, ”What happened?”
Chu Yufeng's face stiffened, and his eyes flashed. ”You don't need to worry. I'll call Dark Night to bring you back.”
”I'm not afraid.”
A trace of unease appeared in Yu Huan's heart as she looked at the hurried expression on the man's face. She wanted to chase after him and ask about the matter, but she didn't know how. Her intuition told her that Chu Yufeng wouldn't tell her at all.
So who was the caller?
”Do you really not need me to call people to bring you back?” he asked again when he was dressed.
”No need, this is my home, what's there to be afraid of? Come pick me up tomorrow.” She looked at him with some surprise.
Chu Yufeng frowned, then left quickly.
There was a lot of light in the manor, causing a trace of human life to appear in the usually deserted area. Chu Yufeng walked in with a dark face, while Steward Li stood by the door with his head lowered.
”Butler Li, how is Aunt Lan?”
”Third Young Master, you can go in and take a look.” Butler Li sighed and could not help but shake his head.
Chu Yufeng's heart skipped a beat. He had a bad premonition. He pushed open the door and saw the old man's back. He was staring at the woman on the bed, his eyes filled with pain.
”Dad, how is Aunt Lan?” He approached her in big strides, looking at Aunt Lan who was sleeping soundly and feeling puzzled. Aunt Lan had always been well. She had never been like this before.
Elder Chu raised his head, his gaze cold, and said in a deep voice, ”I just gave Ruo Lan a sedative, come out with me!”
With that, Elder Chu led the way out of the room. Chu Yufeng took a long look at Aunt Lan before following him out.
Elder Chu sat on the sofa with a dark face, holding a cigar in his hand as he asked in a deep voice, ”Where did you go in the afternoon?”
”Dad, what do you mean?” Chu Yufeng asked in confusion, he had no idea what Elder Chu was talking about.
”You went to the supermarket with Yu Huan, didn't you!?” Elder Chu's voice grew even colder as he looked at Chu Yufeng with a cold glint in his eyes.
Chu Yufeng's face stiffened, but he didn't reply.
”You just have to answer whether I am or not!” Elder Chu continued asking.
Even though Chu Yufeng was used to big scenes, he was still shocked by Elder Chu's presence. He started to get nervous.
”I did go to the supermarket with Yu Huan, but what does it have to do with Aunt Lan's illness?”
”Bam!”
As Chu Yufeng finished his sentence, Elder Chu's fist shot out as well. With bloodshot eyes, he questioned him coldly, ”Have you forgotten what you told me a few days ago?”
”Dad, what do you mean?” Chu Yufeng asked in a low voice as he sat back down on the sofa and spat out a mouthful of blood.
”What do you mean? You still dare to ask me what I mean? ”Ruo Lan saw Yu Huan today!”
With Elder Chu's roar, the hall became silent. Chu Yufeng stared blankly at Elder Chu, a strong sense of unease rising in his heart.
”Aunt Lan saw Yu Huan?”
He really didn't expect that they would meet in the supermarket. No wonder Elder Chu had given Aunt Lan a tranquilizer. Sweat immediately appeared on his face. He had no idea what to do next.
”Humph!” What did you tell me? You're still questioning me? ” Elder Chu's face was full of hostility and his eyes filled with irritation, ”Within half a month, if you can't chase her away, then I will make her completely disappear from this world.”
Chu Yufeng's face was pale, because he knew that Elder Chu's words weren't just to scare him. Elder Chu had already wanted to kill Yu Huan.
”Dad, I will take care of it within half a month.”
”It would be best if it was like this! ”Humph!” Elder Chu snorted and walked towards the room.
Chu Yufeng lit up a cigarette and looked into the distance. His eyes were filled with a struggling look; he had never thought that things would turn out like this. He had no choice but to give up on Yu Huan.
Yu Huan sat on the bed, unable to fall asleep no matter what.
Ding ~ ~ The door was opened.
Her heart skipped a beat, and she couldn't help but tighten the blanket. From what Chu Yufeng had said, he wouldn't be back at night, so why was there the sound of the door opening? Had he recruited a thief?
The more she thought about it, the more nervous she became. The sound of footsteps could be heard all the way outside of her house. She hurriedly hid to the side of the door.
The door opened and a familiar footstep could be heard. A dark figure walked in and turned on the light with a ”Pa” sound.
The lights were on, causing Yu Huan to close her eyes.
”What are you doing?”
A familiar voice rang out. Yu Huan didn't even have time to open her eyes and directly pounced on him.
”You scared me to death, I thought …”
Chu Yufeng's face broke into a gentle smile as he stroked her hair consolingly. ”You think it's a thief?”
Yu Huan pursed her lips but didn't say anything. She buried herself deep within his embrace, breathing in his scent.
