It was drizzling. The entire sky seemed to be filled with pressure, just like how Yu Huan was feeling right now. She was holding a black umbrella as she quietly stood on top of the grave, staring unblinkingly at Yu Chenlei's picture.
Finally, a tear fell. Yu Huan hurriedly wiped it off with her hand, not letting anyone discover it.
There weren't many people who came to the cemetery, only a few of Yu Chen Leopard's good friends from before they died.
She sniffed and temporarily suppressed the sour feeling.
Gu Dongcheng stood in the rain. He did not let the assistant beside him hold an umbrella and let the rain hit his suit. He finally walked forward and placed a bunch of flowers in front of the tombstone.
Yu Huan's expression changed. She hastily threw the flower to the side and glared at him, ”What are you doing here?”
Gu Dongcheng looked at the little woman who had a face full of hatred towards him, and his heart couldn't help but tremble. A low voice came from his mouth. ”I'll send Uncle Yu off.”
When Yu Huan heard this, the anger in her eyes became even more intense. She coldly said, ”You're just a cat crying for a mouse, don't try to be merciful. Put away your disguise!” My dad doesn't want to see you! ”
The air was filled with a heavy atmosphere, the people beside looked at them.
Gu Dongcheng's face showed a trace of depression as he lowered his head and placed the flowers back down.
The other hand quickly threw the flower back to the side.
Gu Dongcheng's expression stiffened and instantly grabbed her wrist. He raised his head and knocked into her eyes.
”Wa, can you stop messing around?”
The rain was getting heavier and heavier. Her clothes were all soaked. A single drop of water landed on her eyelashes. It was crystal clear, but it obscured her vision, making her unable to see through the man in front of her.
”Mayor Gu, I didn't make a fuss. I really didn't make a fuss. Do you think just your bunch of flowers can make my dad forgive you?”
Gu Dong Cheng's brows furrowed even more, and his grip tightened around her wrist. ”Follow me!”
He grabbed her hand and walked to the side of the road.
”No one is allowed to follow us! Do you understand? ” A command came out of his mouth.
”What are you doing?” Let me go! ” Yu Huan frowned as she struggled.
His hand tightly clasped her wrist, not giving her any chance to escape. The people around them also coldly stared at them, no one actually coming forward to help.
Gu Dongcheng directly dragged her next to a completely black business car, just enough to block everyone's line of sight.
”Little one, can you not be so cold to me?” His voice was filled with helplessness but also sadness.
Yu Huan sneered and glared at him hatefully. ”For someone who harmed me and lost my father, to be able to speak to you in such a calm manner is already giving you face.”
”I'm very sorry about Uncle Yu, but the real reason is not me.”
”Not you? Who was that? Gu Dongcheng, I've only gotten to know you once again since today. Who are you going to blame for this? ” The hatred in the depths of his eyes grew, accompanied by a strong sense of disgust.
”I don't know. Although I did want to do that, there was someone who made a move before me. No matter if you believe it or not, at least I said it.” He sighed deeply, as if he had placed a huge rock on the ground.
In the past few days, he had been hesitating and had been dragging things out because he was afraid that Yu Le would hate him. However, he hadn't expected that his superior would issue an order in advance, causing the Yu Family to go bankrupt and become heavily indebted.
Yu Huan's expression changed. Gu Dong Cheng's words had already proven that he was not the culprit, but who could it be? She thought of what Yu Chenlei had said that night.
What did he mean by telling her not to hate anyone?
The scene in front of him was like a mess, a spell that could not be dispelled.
Yu Huan remained silent. Since she was unable to solve these mysteries, there would eventually be a chance for her to do so in the long run.
Gu Dongcheng raised his hand and gently wiped the water droplets on her face dry. Yu Huan blankly raised his head and met his gaze, then patted his hand off with the back of her hand.
Gu Dong Cheng wasn't annoyed, so he lowered his head and leaned close to her as he softly said, ”Little Wa, can you not hate me?”
A trace of awkwardness flashed across Yu Huan's face. She turned her face to the other side in an attempt to avoid his hot breath, but her face still turned red.
Ambiguity flowed between them, and the surroundings were completely silent. At this moment, however, Yu Huan could only hear her own heartbeat.
”Stop looking at me with such hatred. Your heart will hurt.” He leaned close to her and spoke softly, but his tone was filled with helplessness.
Yu Huan bit her lips and remained silent. It was obvious that she had yet to adapt to the peaceful manner in which the two were speaking to each other.
”Why do you hate us so much?” Yu Huan asked, but her tone was not as sharp as it had been at the start.
Gu Dong Cheng's expression instantly froze. She looked at Yu Huan with a deep gaze and didn't speak for a long time.
When Yu Huan looked into his eyes, she was unable to see through his heart. It was as though there was a mysterious veil covering it, preventing others from spying on the depths of his heart.
”I don't want to say.” He lowered his eyes, his long eyelashes covered with raindrops.
Only then did Yu Huan realize that both of them were already soaked. She awkwardly coughed and spoke expressionlessly, ”Since that's the case, I can't believe you. Thank you for coming to send my father off today.”
She pushed him away from her and walked over to the mourners.
Yu Jin raised her head and looked deeply at Yu Huan. Finally, her gaze landed on the person standing not far away. The corners of her mouth slightly curled up, and her crafty eyes instantly turned blank.
