759 Surprise! Big Surprise! (1/2)

The next day, Xu Que buried himself in bed and refused to get up. Back when he was still a cultivator, he could go for days without sleep and still feel spirited and energetic. However, now that he has become a mortal, he feels like he's about to die just from pulling two all-nighters.

Luckily, the System has an automatic recovery ability. Otherwise, his body would have deteriorated completely in spite of being here for only a few months. He slept till noon, and then he finally opened his eyes lazily. Right away, he began to sigh to himself.

I just can't help it. Every day is just too dull!

Xu Que let out another deep sigh as he called out to the System interface once again. He wanted to play with whatever fun stuff he could find in there. After going through most of the System store, nothing much caught his attention other than the cigarettes.

However, as he opened the System parcel, what he saw managed to stop him for a second.

Inside the parcel compartment lay three gift bags. They had been unopened since when Xu Que was at the Original Infant Stage. They are called the Big Growth Gift Bags! He would obtain a Big Growth Gift Bag for every cultivation sub-level that he had broken. As it always gave things inferior to the Big Mystery Bag, he had never wanted to waste time opening it. Now, however, boredom got the better of him!

”They're gonna lie in the dust if I don't open them. Opening these bags for fun is okay. I'll open them while using the Lucky Aura. I can't possibly get rubbish items with that!” Xu Que smirked, then quickly sat up in bed. With his mind, he activated the Lucky Aura, and at the same time fixed his gaze on one of the Big Growth Gift Bags. He quietly uttered, ”Open!”

Immediately, the gift bag opened, and a few beams of light flew into some of the System parcel blank spaces.

Basic Puppet Spell: The favorite spell of the Evil Faction! Activation requires no need for True Core Strength – drip your blood on it and then paste it on a cultivator or a mortal. You could then control their thoughts and actions! (Note: This spell is basic and could only control mortals and cultivators below the Foundation Building Stage.)

Signal Booster: This item is a tool to boost the sending and reception of signals. The more boosters you have, the greater the effectiveness!

”This is freaking awesome!” Xu Que's eyes lit up at these two items. Objectively speaking, these items are still rubbish. However, in the situation that Xu Que is stuck in in this illusory realm, the Basic Puppet Spell is something that could work almost like Divine Equipment!

First, it doesn't need True Core Strength to activate, which is crucial, because it will work for the current mortal Xu Que.

Next, this spell can control people's thoughts and actions, making it even stronger than hypnosis. It's extremely powerful!

”Ha,ha, I will control the Empress Dowager and order her to marry me into the royal...ah no, beg me to marry her! Then I'd be the Emperor's father! There's no need for me to go through so much trouble just to unify the world!” Xu Que got excited at that thought.

He's now so genuinely bored that he's about to go crazy. Though, the appearance of this spell has helped him to find some fun in life.

”Eh, but what the heck is a signal booster? Is this the same type of tool as the Red Rope of Marriage and the Black Rod? What the,... I'm now in the World of Cultivators! What use do signals have here?” Xu Que looked at the second item. Disdain quickly filled his face as he shook his head vigorously. This item could be useful on Earth, but it had no place in the World of Cultivators. Who would build a signal station here? As if we could make a call to Earth with this!

Xu Que jumped up immediately at that thought, his heart racing! If this tool can amplify signals until he could contact Earth with it, it would be invincible!

Without hesitation, Xu Que threw aside the Basic Puppet Spell that had just delighted him and took out the signal booster straight away! Though it was called the signal booster, it looked just like a typical antenna. With one hand, Xu Que quickly put the antenna near the window. He then called the System store and redeemed a smartphone. However, the most crucial problem occurred – there is no SIM card in the phone!

Xu Que searched the whole System store, but he couldn't find a SIM card, or anything related to it!

”For crap's sake, System, that's too unprofessional! How could you sell phones but not their SIM cards? What is wrong with you?” Xu Que berated exasperatedly.

The System replied coldly, ”According to the host's planet data, companies that sell phones do not necessarily sell SIM cards!”

Crap!
