1 Meet an Ice Cube (1/2)
The weather was scorching. ”Why was it so hot in the middle of winter?!” Mai wondered to herself. It felt like the hottest part of summer and for some reason she was in strange uncomfortable clothes.
The heat coming from the burning sun was making it impossible to keep sleeping. After the third time of trying to open her eyes Mai finally succeeded. She started to continuously blink with a blank look on her face trying to understand the outlandish environment in front of her.
It looked as though she was standing on a street straight out of ancient China with large manors that takes up the entire street. There were no tall buildings in the distance that could be seen or airplane trails in the sky. ”It's almost lonely with no one around” Mai thought. She was used to the bustling city of New York and the silent here was unnerving.
”I must be dreaming. There is no way that I could possibly have just appeared in some ancient city.” Mai pinched her arm to see if it hurt.
”Ooouuuccchh!” Mai groaned. It really does hurt … What does that mean? That she was indeed not dreaming and have gone to another world.
”This couldn't possibly be a transmigration, could it? Wouldn't that mean that I had died on Earth!? But how could I have possibly died? All I remember was going to bed before my last final exam.” Mai was instantly filled with deep regret and sadness then slumped on the ground. ”I liked my life on Earth, I was really far into college getting a degree and though I had no boyfriend, I had a lot of close friends and parents that adored me. I'm I never going to see them again?” The weight of Mai's sadness was a constant pull on her soul.
Mai's face was full of concentration as she slowly looked at the hands in front of her, noticing the pale white silky-smooth texture. This was a complete change from her original tanned appearance. Mai's hands started to shake as she took a piece of hair out of the elaborate bun and found that it was also different. Instead of her short wavy bob that she loved, now stood straight long raven black locks.
”The evidence was all in front of me” Mai thought ”different world, different appearance, I have transmogged into some unknown place with no knowledge of where I am.”
Mai was stuck in thought, still slumped in the alleyway. She had barely moved a muscle after checking her appearance.
”So, if I really did transmigration and following my knowledge from web novels that must mean that this is some useless miss from a well-known family that everyone hates for some reason. Also, I am supposedly supposed to make her life better and get revenge for her.
But what did she know? Martial arts, medicine, poison? Certainly not! How was she supposed to redeem this person and face slap all her annoying family members?”
Mai helplessly laughed to herself about the hopelessness of the situation. ”Don't most people that this happens to enjoy getting another life? But I already had a perfectly good life back on Earth, why couldn't it have been someone else? I don't want this at all!”
”You hear me, whoever put me here take me back, I don't accept!” Mai shouted out to the sky.
”There is only one thing to look forward to and that is the ice cube handsome strong male lead that's going to come along and help me with all my problems for no reason whatsoever. I can't wait to meet him and then bang my head against a wall about how stupid everything that comes out of his mouth will be. … ”Oh Mai, you forgot to kill them all” or ”Mai darling, won't you give me some entertainment in my long long life” even better yet ”insert some nickname here that I hate and then pointless flirting.” I just can't wait to meet this guy and give him a piece of my mind.”
