The roof top which was looking like any other roof top changed into a beautiful place by just a clap. The whole roof top was now shining with the white lights and beautiful red roses and a lot of candles were near the corner to make the atmosphere more romantic.
Seeing a candle light dinner and all these arrangements that Joseph made Jenny was overwhelmed she had happy tears in her eyes. Seeing those tears Joseph asked ” What happened? Do you not like it ? I still can change it ! What is it the candles scent or the food or maybe the flowers ....
Jenny stopped him right there and said ” Don't change anything ! It's Perfect ”
Hearing those words he got relieved but was confused that if she liked the arrangements then why'd she cry so he asked ” If you like the arrangements then why the tears are coming out of your eyes?
Jenny smiled and answered ” You fool these are not sad tears these are happy tears no one has ever done such a thing for me not even James did all these things when he proposed to me ”
Joseph was happy and wanted to spread the news by screaming” I am very happy this is the luckiest day of my life!!!!!” but kept his happiness inside.
Joseph asked ” So how about dinner ? I am actually starving!”
Jenny nodded because she was starving too
They sat on the table. At first there was just awkward silence between them because it was the first time that they were having dinner together just the two of them no family, no friends and more importantly NO JAMES.
As the night passed they were chatting and laughing and they talked this much for the first time.
From afar someone was watching them chatting and laughing. Someone was seeing that this time finally Joseph was real happy and wasn't drunk with the sorrow in his heart and was actually smiling not that fake smile that he shows when Jenny was with James.
Joseph saw his watch and said ” Now it's about time. Ok cover your eyes I have another surprise for you ”
Jenny was surprised that now there is still more surprise?
She covered her eyes and held Joseph's hand for the support and Joseph took him to the railing of the roof top and made a sign of 1.....2.....3..... and open your eyes
Jenny was surprised and was very happy to see the words ' HAPPY BIRTHDAY JENNY!!!' written with lanterns in the sky. It felt like Diwali night at that moment when she saw all that lanterns in the sky. Seeing the happiness on her face Joseph felt a little warmness in his heart. It was the first time that he had saw her happiness himself and from so close.
Jenny said ” Ok after this if you say that you have another surprise for me I will explode from happiness. I mean like literally! ”
” Don't worry about that this was the last event of the night ” Joseph said
After all that they went home. The moment they just entered the room Joseph phone ranged ... Hello! What ? Ok I'll be right there yeah I am coming there
Seeing Joseph's worried expression she asked ” What happened ? ”
Joseph answered in a calm tone ” Nothing much there is just an emergency related to military matters. So I have to go now. Tell Mom that it won't take long I'll be back in an hour so she should sleep and not wait for me ” Just after saying this he rushed through the door.
