This county, named in honor of President Pierce, was separated froanized by the saave to St Croix its present limits It contains about six hundred squareeast of the Mississippi river and Lake St Croix It is so the hypotenuse, and St Croix, Dunn and Pepin bounding it by right lines on the north and east, Pepin also for a small part of its southern boundary
