73 The Polymorph Skill (2/2)

”Ah, think of me as a friend, rather than a Mistress,” I tell her moving my hand to rub her head. She smiles at me and rubs her head against my hand!

She was too adorable... was she perhaps, a bit dumb too? I wondered as I kept petting her head. Her tail was flicking every which way, as she pressed closer towards me.

But another question I had, was just how had an alligator given birth to a fox? It just didn't seem like it was a possibility.

My brain was trying to understand that at the moment, I kept petting her, but I couldn't come up with an answer to that question.

I couldn't tell you how long I was petting her, but a hiss from Royal broke my concentration and I looked at him, and I remembered that I was going to give him that skill book.

”Right,” I mutter to myself and I cease my petting of her and sit back cross-legged. Coughing, I flex my hand and to the side of me, a giant treasure chest appears along with a couple lose items. A skill book and a pair of swords made out of bone.

The giant treasure chest leaks a sinister aura, of malice and bloodlust. I smile, there had to be something important in that chest.

Reaching a hand out, I grab the skill book. It's a book that bound in a bone cover, with a skull of a human on the front of the book. When I pick it up the sunken eyes cavities of the skull glow a bright red.

I sigh, looks like the Dragon had been telling the truth after all. A shame, but not a complete loss. After the notification appeared, the burning red eye socket dimmed back to black. Turning I toss the book to Royal, who caught it in his mouth.

He makes a hissing sound before, he nods his head and swallowed the book.

I felt my eye twitch, was that how a snake consumed a skill? But before, it could get lodged in his throat, a burning bright red emanated from his throat before the bulge of the book vanished.

[Summoned Pet Royal wishes to learn the skill 'Polymorph']

Another notification appeared.

[Does player wish their pet to learn this skill?] It prompted me and I nodded my head, it seemed to take that as confirmation.

[Player has accepted, one moment as the skill is consumed and transferred to designated pet]

Royal's whole body was encapsulated, in burning bright light. I placed a hand over my eye and waited for the blinding light to dim down a bit. After about thirty seconds, the blinding red glare of the transfer ended.

[Polymorph: A special skill obtained only on worlds, or areas that are inhabited by advanced species of monsters. Obtained through the slaying of a supremely powerful monster, feed to another monster and allow them to take either a full or semi-human form.

The skill is evolvable, the longer a monster maintains this form the easier and more human they can come across as.]

I glanced at Envy and I felt my jaw go slack.

”You have to be joking,” I laughed as I looked at him, er... her, I wasn't really sure at this point.
