What a cruel twist of fate, I felt melancholy at the thought.

Janus' eyes twinkled slightly, I think he was happy that I was interested in him. Which prompted him to launch into a full blown story, and thus began his recollection of how he'd ended up in the Primordial Forest.

I don't know how long he talked for, but it seemed like it would be endless, he talked with such gusto that it made me feel a little bad that I wanted to cut his throat. He was a little over the top and loved to dramatized everything.

Plus, he was a sucker for detail. However, something that was normally a good thing coming from him was enough to tire someone out. I felt like my brain was going to explode from the number of words that are constantly leaving his mouth.

”Then, of course, I ran into you, what a lucky twist of fate that was. I think it was lady fate that drew me to you, and you to I,” he lavished on about fate as if he was in love with the idea of finding someone through sheer luck.

All I could do was letting out an awkward laugh at his words. He was constantly trying to hit on me. I think Envy had grounded his teeth into nothing, he'd done his best and had kept quiet through the whole spiel. Even Royal was getting a little aggravated by Janus' advances towards me.

I couldn't take him seriously though, and I honestly couldn't tell if he was hitting on me, or just loved to fan people with an endless stream of compliments. I also had a sneaky suspicion that he loved to hear his own voice.

But I'd learned that he'd come to this forest by accident and was now trying to leave it. He'd been here for quite a long time, I kind of felt bad for him. This place didn't seem like the most hospitable place to be trapped for an extended period of time.

”Are you hoping to escape this place by following me around?” I ask him with a raised eyebrow.

A slight blush covers his face as he coughs into his hand. ”I'd be much obliged if you'd allow me to... tag along,” he says as he gives me a bright smile.

I didn't actually mind this, he seemed normal. I was hard pressed to find some normality in this screwed up world I found myself in.

”I don't mind,” I tell him with a shrug. Royal let out a loud hiss, and I turned my head to see what we'd came across. In the distance, I could make out a huge swath of green.

Did we arrive?

In a split second, Royal darted forward, even faster than the speed we'd been traveling at. It looks like he was pleased to see some green. The little dragon stirred as well and stood atop Royal's head, stretching his wings, I could see a bony smile on his face.

”Be careful Royal!” I yelled, the wind whipped across my face and I almost flew off of Royal's body.

Envy was the only thing that kept my body from flying away, he tightens his grip on my body as we hurried forward. Soon, we invaded the densely packed trees and the slight shrubbery that was growing out of the sand. There seemed to be some soil the deeper we went into the forest.

The deeper we went into the trees, more colors began to blossom before my eyes. It was like a painter has used every color imaginable. Soon, the sound of water penetrated the silent forest.

It was strange that everything was so quiet, I didn't see any animals either as we tore through it, heading directly towards the source of water.

Within a fraction of a second, we burst through a color grove of palm-like leaves and before my eyes a huge pond appeared with a gigantic waterfall, that crashed down in a myriad of colors. It was beautiful.

But at the same time, I realized that Royal had no intention to stop. He kept plowing forward until he launched himself into the water.

”Stop!” I yelled but it was too late, he'd already crashed into the water. In an instant, we had submerged ourselves into the pond.
