53 The Information Broker Kobayashi Rina (1/2)
The noise of the surrounding area dimmed considerably after she'd agreed to tell me some information. It was almost as if all the sound other than between the two of us had vanished, I looked around but I still saw a lot of people walking around even talking.
No one had moved, then she- I looked over at Rina- must have done something. Her face was a smile as she kept smoking, letting it curl up into the air she began to talk.
”This is a Player's only area, meaning that no NPC or other monsters can enter in less of course,” she pointed towards Callista and Envy behind me,” it's a monster that a player owns. Of course, this in itself has its drawbacks but it's nothing that you should worry your pretty little head over,” she says inhaling more smoke.
”Many people call this board behind you the board of fate, it has nothing to do with fate so that name is a bit pointless. But we'll forgive the idiots that decided to name it that, its actual name is the Board of Games. A much more suitable name, I personally think,” she said as she raised her hand to point at the board. ”But each to their own in the end,” she finished.
”Board of Games, does that mean the board show's possible games for us to play?” I ask her.
She gives me a seductive glance as she runs her free hand down her legs, ”You are a smart girl, I just might steal you! Indeed, this board will spit out a bunch of information about Mini-game that one can enter while here on the world Mayhem Amusement Park, of course, these game vary in difficulty.”
”People have found out the hard way, each game has it's own parameters and set of rules. Most of which are set up by the admin of the game, these admin's aren't like the admin's that run the worlds or the more complicated inner workings of the Million World Game, they just run the small game you decided to participate in,” more smoke leaves her mouth as she continues on.
”Each game has its own Degree of Difficulty: Easy, Medium, Hard, Expert, and Survivalist,” she paused.
”That would mean that depending on which game and difficulty you pick... the rewards are also varied. How does one know what difficulty they should pick, or if they can complete the game?” I was intrigued, these games are probably all worth playing and no doubt that there are good rewards to be won from them.
However, I wasn't willing to forfeit my life in playing a game, it would be unwise for me to pick something above what I could handle.
”You can get a list of games from the board that will give you detailed information about the games, if they've been played before or if the admin gives more details about what you'll be doing in the game. But there is another method, you can ask me,” she says reaching forward and grabbing my hands.
”You?” I ask...she wasn't an admin of a game. No that was impossible she said that only Player could enter into this area.
”Yes, I'm an information broker, I know almost everything that happens in this town and across the huge expanse of the Million World Game,” she says rubbing my hands with her fingers.
Fast as lighting Envy moves his hand going to strike Rina, but before the knife could find it's home in her neck one of the [Demon Dolls] was holding his wrist. A burning purple shined in the dolls eyes and Envy let out an annoyed growl.
Those dolls were nothing to scoff at!
”Get. Your. Hands. Off. My. Mistress!” Envy growls stressing each word as he glare at Rina, his free hand was gripping my shoulder in a tight grip. Nothing to cause pain but a good deal of pressure.
Chuckling she removes her hands from mine,” Very well,” leaning back in her chair she looks lazily at her doll and gives a small nod. To which the doll quickly release Envy's hand, and move back towards Rina.
”What will that information cost me?” I ask.
”Nothing at all, I'm doing this one because I like you,” she held up a finger,” two because I want our mutual friend to owe me a favor,” she held up another finger.
