”Why is it so dark in this damned place?” I snap, rubbing a hand along the back of my head. I'd been in here for a good couple minutes now, but I couldn't see a darn thing at all.

Licking my lips, I raise my hand and bite on my finger. I was feeling a little bit of anxiety if something were to attack right now, I would be completely open.

”Envy do something!” I growl at him. He's been giggling quietly for a while now. I had no idea what was so funny, but I didn't really have any desire to know what he was laughing at either way. If was a bit deranged, to say the least.

All of a sudden a small light starts to shine, and then it turns into a bright glow. Envy's body started to glow green, it cast a creepy light in the room we were sitting in. He was a couple feet away from me, but I moved towards him, sitting down right next to him.

”When did you become a glorified nightlight?” I ask, reaching a hand out to touch his arm. It was glowing brightly from his veins and then pushing outwards into the rest of his skin. It was like he was generating bioluminescent liquid inside of his body.

”A clown never reveals his secrets,” he chuckles.

”It's a magician that never reveals his secrets, you idiot,” I say rolling my eyes.

I slowly got a sense for the room that we're in now because of his glow. It seemed like it was actually a rather large room, there wasn't to much detail in the room, there were a lot of cobwebs and dust. It reminded me a bit of a tomb.

It seems like no one had been in here for a long while. There were a few pillars spread throughout the room. However, there was only so much of the room that could be illuminated by Envy's glow.

Pushing myself up, I brush a hand down my butt to get rid of the dust and then I cast a look at the perverted clown. His eyes are trained on my butt, I throw my leg out and kick him in the stomach. A deranged laugh crawls out of his mouth.

Mental note to self this clown loves to be hit.

”Get up, we've got to find a way out of this and you're my light,” I say beginning to walk forward. There was some rubble here and there but the most part, it was the same stone floor that I had grown accustomed to walking around in the maze.

”I'd love to do more for you than just be a light,” his playful voice sounded right by my ear. Wrinkling my nose, I chose to ignore him. Lest to give him the satisfaction of my annoyance.

I wonder, how long I had actually been in the maze, it was hard to tell time here anymore. Plus I didn't feel the need to sleep, it was like my body was running on an endless amount of fuel.

Envy quickly caught up with me, he pressed his body close to mine. I just scoffed and let him, seeing as he was my light source I saw no point in not letting him.

I was just like a moth, I was only this close because I was attracted by the light. I mentally told myself.

We kept going forward at a steady pace, looking around I noticed that the room was starting to change. The floor had turned from stone to marble and the pillars were looking neater and actually a lot cleaner, it didn't look as abandoned as before.

Soon we came upon torches that had a fire, it cast eerie light across the room. The flickering flame of the fire made shadows in the room. Thankfully, the glow of Envy with the firelight managed to turn the room into a pretty well lite area.

”Is there a lower level to the maze?” I ask out loud.

”It seems to be that way, or this could be somewhere else, I'd never left the room of clowns before, I can't tell you much about this area at all,” Envy elaborated as his hand snaked around my waist and pulls me back into his chest.

I open my mouth to snap at him, but an arrow whizzes past the area that I had just been standing in. It would seem that he moved me out of the way.

”It also appears that we've got some company,” he chuckles lightly in my ear. He pulls me back and more arrows fall where we'd just been. He navigates us behind a pillar and his glow also vanishes, the room grows significantly darker.

”Great,” I mutter reaching to draw my sword, but Envy reached his hand out and stopped me from completely drawing it.

”Wait a moment,” his tone was rather serious,” I'll draw them out, there only two archers. But there might be some other footsoldiers hiding. You stay put let me clean them up,” his voice was no longer playful.

Maybe getting thrown down here had knocked something right in his head.
