16 The Devil Queen (1/2)

- Next day, May 17, 8:15am -

”Eh? You are still in your pajamas? Sia, it's quarter past eight you are gonna be late!”

”Actually forgot to tell you: something happened to one of the major presenter groups so they had to change the schedule a bit and I am actually free today!”

”What??? You could have told me so that I could sleep more!” Alex said making an angry and annoyed face.

”I thought you would like my surprise... I thought you would be glad that you get to spend more time with me,” Sia said looking down as if about to cry.

Alex almost ran to her when he thought that she might cry. She didn't know him well so probably she thought that he was truly angry. He had long forgotten how sensitive girls could be.

He gently patted her head and said softly,

”I am sorry, ok? I was just acting angry. Of course I am happy! How can I not be? Is there anything in particular you want to do? Even though Will and Ren aren't here we can still go to the food places you wanted to visit. And I will even let you do the makeup you so wanted to do last time. How does that sound?”

At his words Sia tried hard to not show her elation and with her head still hanging down asked softly and quietly,

”You will really let me decide and do anything I want to do?”

”Yes.”

Sia still didn't raise her head as she was trying to hide the smile that was blooming on her face.

”Anything? Whatever makeup I want?”

A shiver ran down Alex's spine, but he still couldn't say no to her so he agreed again.

Confirming that he gave his consent Sia jumped from her seat and hugged him tightly before running to her room to get her cosmetics.

Alex, on the other hand, was still standing in a daze. After her figure was out of his sight he cursed silently,

”Shit, she played me... Again.”

- An hour later -

”SIANA ILLES! You gotta be kidding me! I am not going out like this! What if someone recognizes me? What if people post pictures? And most importantly, where the fuck did you get all of these?”

”Calm down and please do not forget your promise. You gave your verbal consent. As for all of these things, how else do you think I sneak around the streets?” She said rolling her eyes at him.

Then, taking a quick look at her wrist watch she said panicked,

”Oh shit! We need to go now or else we are gonna have to pay extra for the wait. The cab is almost here!”

”What? What extra pay? What cab? I literally have tens of cars! And what's with cursing? Where have your manners gone?” Alex said exasperated.

”Duh, if we come out of any of the cars you own all the attention will be on us. As for my manners they are for strangers. Now with all the questions answered quit whining and follow me!” Sia said in an annoyed yet authoritative tone, leaving no space for further arguments.

The market was crowded with people and the air garnered different appetizing smells. The food selection varied from local traditional to international. It also varied from desserts to salads to mains. People were having combinations of different courses as it was already brunch time.
